A Real Mera in Paradise (Page 701/713)

The sills on my 1987 MERA were painted a GM black (similar to what was applied to the inner door frame) although the donor Fiero color was a metallic red. The picture below is the best I have.

Thanks Rexgirl.

I still learning about my MERA and what should be there, and what has been added or modified.

1) I have polished SS plates on my door sills. Now I know they were added by the orig. owner.
2) The exhaust muffler on my car...seem to be original. But they hand lower, so the tail pipes have been modified. I THINK that was done when IRM installed the MIller-Woods Turbo kit. I'm assuming the exhaust was lowered to clear the turbocharger, requiring the mod. SO...If I bought rodney's pipes, I'd have to modify them as well!

3) Still wondering, what the rear lower valance finish was: smooth or texture? semi gloss? flat? black?

Thanks all for your patience!

Here's the parts diagram for the V6 exhaust.

What Rodney sells are the Mera equivalent of parts 1 and 10 on the exhaust system diagram. They need to be specially shaped to fit through the Mera bumper. I am not very familiar with the Miller Woods turbo setup, but do know that my 3.4 push rod turbo Mera (1987) did not have any exhaust system mods around the muffler area. This is what the engine side of my turbo setup looks.

Everything below the MERA's rear bumper was painted flat black by Corporate Concepts.

Texture? Or smooth. I have areas that have a rough surface, and some smooth areas....

Also: I don’t think my exhaust is stock. It doesn’t look like the schematic, unless 88s were different

You are correct, most/all of your exhaust is not a stock Fiero assembly, and does not have the MERA tailpipes as illustrated in Larry's earlier post.

Also swapped out chrome lugs for black Mcgards. If you do this, seap out the lug wrench as mcgards are smaller than the stock lug nuts!

Also: under the MERA stickers of the stock ones were MERA and Fiero transfers. I guess 87-88 centers of stock Fiero and MERA wheels are the same

If you are speaking of the stock wheels on a Mera you are correct. The Chromadoras were an option in 1988 and the small center cap is slightly different than the stock diamond pattern wheel. If you are in a hurry, silicone will keep the small stock centers locked in place for quite a while.
