As soon as I can make it home I'll dig those letters out for you.

Well we need a little help. I am helping my 17 year old grandson working on his #7040 Mera. It is pretty much complete but non of the badging. Former owner may still have some of it but we are trying to get it from him when he is available. Right now we are working on the tail lights. We have the 4 original Mera 1 lights. We want to divide the signals and brake lights. I have gone through almost all the 146 pages in this forum and saw a couple of times about a white wire that needs to be cut to separate the the two sets of lights. Anyone know which post or can tell me what to do without my having to go back through it all.
Also would help if someone has the wiring diagram for the rear lights.
Looks like the grandson has the second yellow Mera in Canada but this one is in British Columbia. thanks gord

From an earlier post by Rexgirl

This is how I resolved the problem of my turn lights illuminating along with the brake lights on my 1987 SE based Mera... My solution involved the C-500 connector.

Taken from my 06-07-2014 post on "Paradise" page 149:
http://www.fiero.nl/forum/F...HTML/077195-149.html

To disable the brake switch from activating the rear orange (outside) turn lights on my SE based Mera, I did the following: Locate the C500 wiring connector mounted on the passenger side frame rail between the battery and the front of the strut tower. It has two multi-wire plugs; a front plug for the rear lights the another plug for the engine. Look at the front plug and you should see a LOOP of white wire that sticks out about three inches. Cut that looped wire and cover the cut ends with electrical tape. Now if I press the brake pedal, one half of each red tail light glows and the high mounted brake light (in the rear window) illuminates, and the orange (turn) tail light stay dark.

I had Billet Badges make a nose badge for my MERA, it looks good but it's not a duplicate of the original.

I could be wrong but believe that most if not all 87 Meras were based on the GT platform. In 88 they switched to the SE version but there were still a few (around 6 IIRC) built on the GT platform.

The early 1987 Meras were based on SE models. It is interesting to learn that Meras were possibly SE based up to car #7040 (my SE Mera is #7029). As Nelson said, Corporate Concepts then changed to GT models for the rest of 1987 (and a bit into 1988, so I've heard). And just to make things confusing, the factory also added Formula models to the mix in 1988.
Gord, it seems reasonable that you have standard SE model wiring up to where C.C. physically connected it to their tail light re-wiring. Still, since I've never needed to work on stock Fiero rear wiring and so can not compare them to our cars, I can't say for sure.

I present my version of Mera rear end emblem.
I want my Mera to be shown as a Mera, and not as a Ferrari.
That is why I exchanged the Ferrari horse to this alternative Mera version.
Look at my pictures, and tell me what you think.
Thank you.

great job Jens. Still waiting for the Viking ship to arrive with the emblems. Maybe next week. We are just getting ready for an inspection as the car was brought from another province. Just a few things to fix before it happens. gord
