As a quick update on this vehicle, I sent off a few questions but got some noninformative answers. The driver's side mirror is manual, there was no answer to my question about the other mirror, and the A/C is not functional (blows but not cold air). The responder apparently does not know very much about cars.

Re: MERA 8082 at ebay.
I liked the image of the rear end. We can clearly observe where the MERA letters originally was placed :-)

It looks as if the Mera build number tag is still intact also.

Wanted to post this in our MERA thread first. I have two original Chromadoras (without tires or the large silver center caps) for sale. I needed a replacement and had to buy a set of four to get one. I will keep one as a spare so that leaves two for sale. The cost will be what I paid so our small group can persist. Let me know if you are interested. JR

The Build tag is indeed intact!
I thought the Pennock Fiero community would be interested in checking out my California Smogged, Titled, and Registered 1988 Mera #82 Automatic for no reserve auction on ebay. I have noticed that many people on the Pennock's Forums are incredibly skilled and do amazing things to turn their Fiero into a car that outperforms all cars on the road. I will do my very best to answer any and all of your questions quickly. I am not mechanically inclined (at all) and trusted West Coast Fiero's judgment in giving the car new set of exhaust manifolds, new headers, new catalytic converters, new tires, new flip up lights, new door handles, new wipers, new optima high performance battery with kill switch, and new heater core, complete with a full tune up and major service. In fact, I told them to do whatever is necessary to make the car a fantastic daily driver that is more than capable of doing a long road trip. It runs fantastic, has a terrific exhaust note, and the emissions profile is terrific.

Well I just wanted to give everyone an update on the 1986 Prototype. I sold it last weekend ;( to a very nice guy out of Cincinnati, OH. He was a Pontiac guy who was very interested in the Mera's history and story. I shared this forum with him as well as told him that several members here have extra parts if he ever needs to purchase anything. He states he is trying to keep the car as close to stock as possible and looks forward to taking the car to local car shows with his son. It was sad to see it go, but I am very happy it went to a car guy who will drive it, and continue to improve the car and share the mera story.

So a few days after the sale of the 1986 prototype mera, seriously not happy about selling it, I came across another mera for sale. It's a 1987 Pontiac Mera, mera tag number (6334 Paint Code DuPont B8345 Silver Met) with aftermarket T-tops added by the first owner through a company called cars and concepts. The car has 53,000 miles, 5 speed with cloth interior. The car needs some work, but I couldn't help myself and had to rescue it, and bring it back to its former glory. I'll try and post some pictures shortly.
