Does anyone still build or care about 308 body kits? (Page 6/11)

Hey Rob, Good to see you still posting!

Good stuff, Sage. Is Doug going to be offering the pieces? Idea on cost? I'll have to keep an eye on the rockers. Looks like the 430 parts I want are going to fall thru.

Nice to see Minngreen post, too. One of my favorite cars.

Nice to see the wide body parts! Makes me think about getting a second 88 to do a wide body 308 on...

Yea Bob, those parts are available. You'd have to contact Doug. No set price has been determined as of yet.

Like I said above, it's gonna take some work to graft those parts on, and I'm not sure what the end result would be, not having done it, but it looks to me like you'd have to cut out the original wheel wells and graft the extensions in, rather than add them onto the existing quarters, if that makes sense to you. The rockers seem to have an extreme angle at the very back bottom where it "juts" out from under the recessed belt line, but again, you'd almost have to cut away the stock panel and glass these in to see how it would look in the end. Just some random thoughts.

Can u tell how many inches wider the flairs are (lip to the outer tire sidewall) - how much would u need to move out the wheel or how much wider wheel is necessary ?

Sage MAY 19, 10:13 AM
Paul: I will get a measurement today of what I'm calling just the "flare", which is from what I can see, what you have indicated in your picture. As mentioned above, looks to me like you could cut back the flare section to include as much or as little as desired. I'll measure the full width of the flare, but I won't be able to tell you how much wider wheel would be needed to bring it to the outside.

Won't be till later, or possibly even tomorrow, but I'll get back to you.

Thanks Guys! :-) It's been awhile, but I'm still around. I blew up the motor on the GreenGT 450 miles from home, returning from the 30th at Indy last summer. That was kind of a downer, but also good motivation to start the engine swap I've had planned for 10+ years.

I also just returned to the position of VP of the Minnesota Club, and recently my 5-1/2 year old son, Charlie, started asking about working on the car again. So he helped me tear down the Small Block - and it's going to the machine shop in a couple of days!
