Cliff,
Most here no idea how owning a car cost in any EU country.
Like Fuel prices are high because of taxes. Likely VAT or some other name(s) that's mostly % based not Fixed Cents per Gallon here. (VAT about same as US Sales Tax and varies on what product/services sold.)
Then have fees and taxes every year and in many places old cars are or soon will be "banned" by high "tolls" to drive into them like London and others in the UK. That's On Top of other Tolls and Parking cost in most places... London's TfL has Congestion Charge £11.50(~$16) day and often the Emissions Surcharge £10(~$14) per day. (Pounds to Dollars as of post date.)
Many places are or will completely banning Diesels and old Gas vehicles soon.

So give a short list of fees/taxes/etc should give an idea why you sell your car and may never get a car.

I was wondering the same thing or perhaps how much is the shortage. With some rallying I bet the members on here could come up with the slack.
Maybe have one of those fund raiser thingy's on the opening page. Like this... Can anybody photo shop it for the cause. Cut & past a fiero in there?

ps: I did send a contribution a few days ago.

Glad there is still some freedom in The United States of America. Hope we can keep it.

Donations and ads do cover the monetary costs of the forum. But maintenance costs time. Time that isn't paid. I would love to be able to make some money of the forum. I mean, why not? I offer a "product" that helps people maintain their Fiero. Just like other Fiero Vendors. I put and have put a lot of time into it. Donations are very, very welcome, but I wish that ad income would increase so I wouldn't even have to ask for donations. I always wanted this to be a free service. I still do. The new layout has more room for non-intrusive ads which will allow me to show slightly more of them. I know a lot of people hate them but in all honesty, without the ads I wouldn't be able to run the forum. I also make a little with affiliate linking. So when you click on an eBay link that someone posted for instance, eBay knows the person is coming from PFF and I get a small commission when you buy the item on eBay (so by all means, if you see a cool product on eBay, post about it here ). It all adds up to a few hundred dollars each month. It pays for the server and the bandwidth. But I can't make a living out of it.

People who think it should be ad free aren't being realistic. Id say don't worry about it.

I'm not on the forum much but occasionally when I am on i'll click on the ads. I was under the impression the forum would get a few pennies when I did that.
Do you have to actually purchase something from the AD for the forum to get any revenue?? If so I just been wasting my precious clicks,LOL.
Blitz54 MAR 28, 01:22 AM
Well I'm really glad that the ads covers most of the cost of the site. But it's good to hear the new layout will have a few more spots for advertisements. I mean really, this site is almost TOO clean compared to many higher traffic sites these days.

Also, even if there are people that are hugely against new ads, where are they gonna go? We have the best Fiero Forum in the world right here!

Any updates Cliff? Concerned about you , and the car. Weather you kept the car or not, care to share a photo of it?

Cliff thanks for all you do and the forum. I sent you a few beers. Good luck.
