I can't put a mesh on the underside because of the way it mounts, however, you can pretty easily affix one to the bottom side of the hood around the vent. Maybe even bend it nicely around the vent louvers.
Price will be roughly $175 for the vent assembly finished in black powdercoat (its a semi gloss black, but slightly more biased towards gloss)
Bare aluminum it will be roughly $155

His last instagram post was only a few days ago, I assume he is is active. However, I also looked through my history and when I was looking for C5 brake brackets last year I had to email someone else because he never responded. YMMV
