Why are embedded images no longer appearing in posts? (Page 3/3) |

Got mine to work using instructions stated above. What's weird is it just happened to not load images anymore after working for a long time. Did something change? I apologize in advance if this was already talked about but I missed it.

Yes, something has changed. PFF is now using a secured connection (https) but the images are still coming from a non-secured domain (images.fieroforum.com) causing some browsers to not willing to displaying them. I'm working on this, but since fieroforum.com and fiero.nl share the same IP address, it's not a simple task to solve..

Ok, images should be visible again (for those who had problems) and browsers should no longer complain about parts of the page being insecure.
But I expect problems when people link to (non-https) images outside of the PFF servers. Unfortunately, I have no control over that.
The switch to https was necessary. Not only for security but because the almighty Google penalizes sites that are insecure. When searching for "fiero", PFF dropped in the search results from the #1 spot to... well, no idea where to since PFF didn't show up in the results at all.
It's odd that Google ignores the largest Fiero site in the world. But I hope that's going to change now.
