It's been years since I've seen one on the road in the San Diego area ...

I used to see 2 driving around in my town, a silver SE V6, needed work, but was in pretty good shape.(he actually worked right across the street from me.) and a blue 88GT, it looked brand new.. But that was years ago, the only one in my area still on the road that i know of is mine lol. [This message has been edited by Jonesy (edited 08-03-2019).]

I know for certain of 8 running, driving & registered daily drivers in my Sacramento suburb of 135K population. There are probably others I have not come across. A pretty good showing I'd say. [This message has been edited by Rsvl-Rider (edited 08-03-2019).]

Its safe to say that no one knows the exact number of Fiero still in existence. We can probably find this number from motor vehicle registrations but a state by state count would be necessary and not accurate as that number will not include the many "garage queens" that some collectors have The production totals from the 86-88 Fiero GT's from Pontiac showed that 40,477 fastbacks were produced. That's about 10% of total Fiero production but the fastback style was one that caught on big with the collector enthusiast market. I own four Fieros but only one is registered. Most collectors own more than one. Taking everything into consideration I would go out on a limb and estimate that half ( or 20,000) of the GT fastbacks remain to this day with probably fewer on the road meaning cruise night , show and collector cars. That's an optimistic number that survives . When I was combing the junkyards regularly for parts in PA back on the late 90's I found loads of notchbacks but never a fastback. Yes some GT's were scrapped but that's why I say only half. Now if we look at the other 350, 000 + notchbacks I'll estimate that 10% of them still survive. If we put the numbers together 50,000 total Fieros are still in existence .but only a small fraction of them are on the road.------------------ " THE BLACK PARALYZER" -87GT 3800SC Series III engine, custom ZZP /Frozen Boost Intercooler setup, 3.4" Pulley, Northstar TB, LS1 MAF, 3" Spintech/Hedman Exhaust, P-log Manifold, Autolite 104's, MSD wires, Custom CAI, 4T65eHD w. custom axles, Champion Radiator, S10 Brake Booster, HP Tuners VCM Suite. 10% of notchbacks and 50% of fastbacks is a reasonable estimate from the junkyards that i have combed. i've seen probably 20 notchbacks for each fastback in the junkyards.

In August of 2019, these Fieros met in Irvine, CA to head down to San Diego.

I would think that in today's world, with all the state DMV systems linked, there might be a way to know how many of a specific vehicle are being licensed every year. ------------------ RickN White 88GT 5spd (<10K miles) White 85GT (SC3800 Series II w/ AOD) White 99 F250SD 7.3PSD 6spd 1956 Ford 860 Tractor w/ Freeman Loader 20Ft H&H Tilt Bed Trailer (Remember - Gravity is not a tie-down)

There is. You just have to pay every state for the info, then collate it. TFS used to do it every year until the states jacked the cost way up.

The only other Fieros I see in my area are two GTs sitting in disrepair in driveways. I can't remember the last time I saw one driving around.
One I know of that might see the road again is this 88 GT t-top at a local GM dealership although at the price they're asking, it might be in their showroom for quite some time.
