Nearly everyone doing a LS4 swap w/o the 4T65e-hd is using some variation of a bolt on starter mount that keeps the starter in the stock LS4 location. However, it doesn't look like the starter would clear the 4T80 protruding valve body.


What this means is that bfurches is probably the only person who has taken the time to R&D the measurements for the oil pan starter.

I was looking at the specs on the starter that b furches uses [cvr5414] It'sonly 6" long ! was wondering if guru's mount would work?

Bfurches starter mounts on the engine side, stock LS4 that I use is on the transmission side, so they spin opposite each other.
