Have a weird fiero story? (Page 2/2)

A couple of years ago, while on the annual California Coast Run, the group had stopped at a restaurant on the Pacific Coast Highway (Hwy 1). Just as we were about to leave, a group of people had gathered around a couple of exotic cars parked out front. I think they were Maseratis. One of them wouldn't start. Looked like it needed a jump start but no one could find the battery. The drivers must have been driving exotic rentals.

So Jenny pipes up and asked if anyone had checked the trunk. They all looked at her funny, but upon opening the trunk, there it was! We all had a good natured laugh and I got a picture of Jenny jump starting the Maserati with our 88 Iron Duke T-Top notchie!

She's now a member of the Maserati Facebook group!

I was talking to two young guys in their twenties at a car show. (I had my 86 GT there) We started talking about the Fiero’s handling abilities when one of them said that he had “flipped” his Fiero. I told him I have been driving Fiero’s for years, I have pushed mine “to the edge” by I have never gotten close to doing that. I said, “how did you manage to flip a Fiero?” He said, I was drifting it.

My grandmother went around telling everyone I bought a Ferrari.

I told her it was a Fiero. She asked wha the difference was. I said about $250,000 at that time.

Mid-engine cars are not really good at (Show-off) drifting.....'On throttle' it wants to go straight- and 'off-throttle' it wants to spin. My neighbor's kid did a brody in our intersection one night (With his 2018 Charger) and I ran down and chewed him out for it.....next day, another neighbor came to me and talked about how "Us old guys could show them how to do a real brody!" I told him my Fiero is not really good for that kind of thing- he was surprised. Maybe I should take him down Redwood road some time and show him what my Fiero is good at.
