History video: PONTIAC FIERO - Everything You Need to Know | Up to Speed (Page 2/2)

Probably the best video about the Fiero by a well known YouTuber, but still not without flaw.
Titled as "Everything you need to know" and doesn't even mention the Indy Pace car? That's a pretty special tidbit of info left out.
Also no mention of any of the various Fiero race cars or the Super Duty 4. All of which are quite interesting history of the car.
Way off on the percentage of fires as cvxjet mentioned. It's less than 1%, not even close to 20%.
Said the GT was introduced in 86 with updated body while showing footage of a notchback (probably 85 GT).
And a few other bits and pieces that were slightly off or misleading.

There still needs to be a book that is the complete story on the Fiero.

For too long the same crap keeps getting kicked around and the true full story has yet been put together.

Even here there are things that get passed on as what or how things happened and they only cover part of the truth or are based on truth but still misunderstood or defined.

This is a story that needs to be told from a number of views as there is more to this than just the Pontisc side, GM side and even the Chevy side. There were many politics and there were some major mistakes made or moves of desperation by Pobtisc at the time.

These simple videos are just touching the surface of a much deeper and complex story. Even the Fier issue and oil leak explanation is never refund down to the valvcover leaking as being the problem. The Iron duke cover leaked on every GM car but the Fiero did not have the air flow a front engine model has.

The one thing is the focus often goes to Hulki and yes he played a major role but there were so many others who played important part and seldom get brought in.

John Schinella seldom get credit but he was part of the program as long as anyone. GM engineering gets left out as they were the seed for Hulki moving to mid engine. Etc.

Even some involved in the program do not always agree with i each other.

Like the na,me. Fiero was found at a late night meeting by John? Yet Pontiac owned the tights to the name and used it previously on a Firebird show car. Something just does not add up there.

GM had an official call for some things in the program yet the truth could be a little different.
