Absolutely beautiful car Steve!
Great poses for Mera Dan! I gotta find the time to take more pics around the island. Sigh...
Just out of curiosity, do you guys know the history on the Mera T-top installs? Did they go to Corporate Concepts first for the conversion to Mera, or did they go to Car and Concepts for the T-top install first?

Sorry - haven't figured out quotes yest -- I would think that a good painter would have a method to create a smoked glass or reflective finish paint to blend in a sunroof and give it a more targa like look. In responce to a number of questions / comments on my vehicle. Yes - I'm on the big side - 6-4 255 and I fit just fine. Springs were trimmed a bit to lower the vehicle and with the 16 inch tire wheel combo fill the wheel wells up nicely - Paint is Aztec Red urathane - Used on 300 ZX - Roof and bumpers are low gloss Sherwin Williams -- vehicle has always been garaged - except for a short stay at a local repair shop two weeks ago when the fuel line factured as I pulled into a cruise spot, lucky no fire! -- I clay bar the paint twice a year and I use a Boat type "wax" usually Dura Gloss. Paint job is 12 years old. Spent the better part of today detailing the car for a big show tomorrow- Redskins Ride where my junk will be on display with the lambos bentleys and ferraris of the Redskins. I'll post some more detailed pic's and hopefully some show pictures if not rained out. |

^^^^all good info......thanks. clay bar??? whats that do? as far as the painter. i was gonna try an airbrush friend of mine to see if he could do something....i was also thinking about window tint?? maybe a sheet of the silver, mirror finish over the whole roof section then cut for the sunroof. that might work, no?? ohhh yeah..... to get a quote, all you have to do is find the post you want to quote and on their post, hit the "quote" botton in the upper tool bar, far right....it will "quote" the org poster and you can add whatever you want after you hit enter under said quote. make sure your new stuff is outside the last [/QUOTE]
Nelson and Indy?? did your Meras come with them T-Tops, OEM?? gonna dig thru some paper work to see if it reflects any info on the T-Tops.... back later. dan[This message has been edited by batousai666 (edited 08-22-2010).]

Clay bar sold by McGuires / Mothers and others --- easy to do just follow instructions -- you just spray with a "detailer" provided with the kit and rub with the clay bar. It shears the water spots, orange peel, and dirt from the paint and when buffed with a micro fiber towel after a sealer wax of your choice your paint is as perfect as it can be!
A good painter should be able to find a match to a sun roof , blueblack or chrome(ish) to blend in a sunroof. I think the tint film would be to delicate unless it's under a clear coat if that could be done.[This message has been edited by steve308 (edited 08-22-2010).]

Dan,
I added the t-tops to one of my hardtop cars. However, I know of several t-top Meras that are original anbd not added. I may end up with another t-top vehicle (87 Mera) in the near future if the price is right.

| quote | org. quote by jscott1 Cars and Concepts were marketing T-tops to anybody that would buy them. It's not exactly aftermarket, because the T-tops that you find installed in 84 to 87 Fieros by C&C are nearly identical to the ones that were ordered from the dealers. That's because the dealers had the cars stop off at C&C in Brighton Michigan to have the tops installed before they got to the dealership, (Option code "CJB").
As recently as a few years ago there were brand new kits you could buy to have installed in any Fiero. In fact, I would bet the rent that there are still brand new kits squirelled away by members of this forum. Every now and again one pops up for sale. It's estimate that 2,000 to 4,000 kits were sold.
So it's not an Indy thing at all. T-tops can be found in any year Fiero, but there were only 1252 with the "CJB" option code making them more rare.

i found this above in the ARCHIVES..... seems the only Meras with OEM t tops are gonna be the 1988's......
however, while looking over my hardcopy articles i did find a little tib-bit. in my paperwork, a statement in an old Car and Driver Mag, June 1987 article......"CCL will even reskin the seats to make them look like the standard equipment of a certain exoticar builder, headquartered in Northern Italy" seems to be talking about these: Mera #6001
 and these from Mera #7005
 and these in, Mera X

thats the ticket..... D[This message has been edited by batousai666 (edited 02-16-2013).]

i guess if the T tops are OEM they will be reflected in the RPO sheet??? i think this is only revelent to the 1988's. the T-tops in my opinion are the closest we cam get to true Targa with out cutting out the whole roof and comming up with something custom.

Dan While the one with T-Tops ( also an 88) is not a CJB car the tops were installed when the car was rebodied. I will need to look to see which kit was used for that conversion and see if it is the same as a CJB car.
And since it seems like your loaded with info, Mera #7005 where did you get the photos of that car? Any other info on it? By the number is it the 5th one built? Was the proto type counted as the number 7001 or was it not counted? Got that info?

the owner sent them to me.....he posts here under the name JanR. Mera #7005 currently resides in Sewden. i refer to the 1986 Proto as Mera #6001. has no sticker. i have some paperwork stating that there may well be another proto out there on an '87. this may turn out to be mine not sure still trying to verify. technically Mera #7005 is the sixth counting the Proto.
the cool thing about these 2 cars is i fit right in with them. same points on our engine grilles and seats. and Mera X and Mera #6001 both have Manual drivers side mirrors and switches!!! this too me is awesome!!! time for breakfast, be back later Dan[This message has been edited by batousai666 (edited 08-22-2010).]
