All of my Meras have 265 x 50 x15 tires all around. The one exception is an 88 that has 295 x 50 x15 tires on the back, This will change to the stock tire shortly after the engine conversion is completed.

Guess that is what I will go to as the 245/50-15 I have on the front are not avail. Where do you get your 265s?
I went back and looked at your dark gray car--I assume this has 265s all around--really looks good. Has this car been lowered?[This message has been edited by reholmes (edited 08-05-2010).]

What is the widest tire I could put on the Chromadora rims?

Fiero-In-Paradise Hey, I should take my wife back to Hawaii. That's where we went on our honeymoon 31 years ago.
Oh well, back to the tire subject. #8085 has Goodyear Eagle II's on it. P235r60/15 front and P255r60/15 in back on the Chromadoras. I have another set of wheels that I ran on it before. They were Enkei 16" rims with Toyo v-rated tires. I am now running those on my gold 87 GT. Lafierte (youngest son) and me took the Mera and the gold 87 to the Tyler Shipman memorial car show two weekends ago. The right rear rim on the Mera seems to have a slight bend in it because I noticed some "waddling" at around 70 mph on the 400 mile round-trip. We met a lot of TERRIFIC Fiero people there. Someone said that Keystone Wheels in Minneapolis could true up the rim for me. Anyway, the P255r60/15's on the back are as wide as you can go, otherwise the tire will rub on the mud sheild on the strut. It is also Goodyear's maximum recommended tire width for that rim width (rim is 7 inches wide). Other than the issue with that one wheel that needs a bit of attention, the car handles just as wheel with the R-rated (and much less expensive) Goodyears on it as it did with the V-rated tires. I'm not going to be driving it at over 100mph anyway!
Here are some pics to show the difference. The first is my son Jeff's ( pff-id LaFierte) high school grad picture, taken with the Mera when it had Enkei's on it:

Jeff took this picture on the way back from Frazee, MN at highway speed. These are the Chromadoras with the Goodyears, and that rear wheel is the offending one:

Here is the gold 87 GT that Jeff drove up the the Tyler Shipman Memorial with the same Enkei's and Toyo's on it:

The Toyo's are p235v50/16's rear and p215v50/16 front. Because of the outside offset of these Enkei rims, the rear tires barely clear the strut mud shields in the back. There is less than 1/4 inch clearence.
I hope this helps! Have a great day...work is calling ....

Good Grief!
I should learn to proof read! "Just as wheel," should read, "just as well." I am semantically embarrassed. Had wheels on my mind.
LOL! ~~Dan

The Eagle IIs fill the wheel well nicely--has the car been lowered?

The cars are both stock ride height... That's a good point. Neither of the cars shown has been lowered. If your car has, those tire sizes probably won't work out so well. ~~Dan
