Tom,

You never cease to amaze me with the nice work you do. That is the best looking automatic shift knob I have seen on a Fiero!

Tommy,
that sure is nice. kinda Short tho, for me.
looks like an old Arcade video game controller. wocka, wocka, wocka.
i should look into something like this so i can see my bach-up camera better.
i got a tall T shifter. not sure if its OEM Fiero or not. i do not believe my steering wheel is OEM.....
PEACE,
Dan

PS ....and too all the shiney ashtrays sing "BILNG, BLING!!!"

Never seen that shift knob setup before; I'm sure a lot of PFF members would be interested if someone were to construct a kit...

Thought I might post a pic of the updated shifter. I copied the Rodney Dickman automatic shifter by using a mid 90s camaro shift ball and a piece of thick wall PVC. When in park, the ball is not as close to the HVAC controls as it appears in the photo. To shift in and out of gears, press down on the entire ball assembly or lift up rather than have to push a button. The whole hand fits over the ball when in park and you don't bang your knuckles on the A/C controls.

The next step will be altering the shifter surround to replicate a gated shifter like the Italian version.

"its guady, its naughty, its gonna holla, at the little shorty......finna get sum. i said, get, get, get, ya sum"....whoa...

Thanks for the compliments all! I provided as much info if anyone wants to do the same, you see these round leather Z-28 IROC knobs on e-bay once in a great while. No kits...otherwise mine would not be so unique.

Joe, that's a nice knob setup as well! I had thought about getting Rodney's, but I had my heart set on one that was leather covered.

Dan, you go for that bling emblem! Hmmm...that kinda gives me an idea, I'll have to check back with the lady who does the engraving here.

I have two more "upgrades" coming this weekend and will post pics. LOL...the Mera is spoiled rotten...

Ok Guys, I am not good at this stuff, but now you can finally see the latest pictures and info.

"Tom" in Taiwan sent me more pictures and info on the Ferrari sounding exhast system.

These new pictures show some kind of silencer in the system. If you have a Yahoo toolbar, you can hit "translate" to read some of his other links.

Tom, me too. I have one in leather also, but I wanted to experiment on a plain knob in case I screwed it up. I'll do another one with the leather knob at some point and sell this one on the forum.

Joe...thanks for the idea! I may redo this knob and go your route, no need for the release button. Let's see...prob 1/2" PVC tubing will slide nicely over the shaft housing. Got that. Then just need to figure out how to fit the knob onto the PVC pipe. I'm betting you drilled it out and glued it right into the knob?? Drop the plastic white thingy back in, cut to length, slide the new knob/shaft assembly over (after painting black), and that's it. Wow...this opens the door to MANY leather knobs. LOL...back to the drawing board!!
