OK, should have noted the glass. Mine is very similar--my captive nut appears to be a lock nut. I'll take a picture and send it along--may not be today.

Ditto here!

What about this bracket setup? Its about midway on the rear clip, both sides.

When I took apart my reverse lights, I remember those drywall screws. I went ahead and re-used them, though, I didn't want to risk stripping out the hole with a different screw.

I had some downtime this past weekend, so I worked on all things...the ash trays.

I used a dremel with a wire brush to clean them out, then gave them a good cleaning with lacquer thinner. Primed them and then painted them with the same "chrome" paint I used for the reverse light housings. Not really chrome...more like a super glossy silver. It's actually not too bad, just need to keep the can well-shaken. I applied three coats and then let them sit in the sun for a while.

Here's what they look like installed:

Absolutely nothing is going in them, like cig butts, coins, lost/found screws and nuts, etc. Paint is ok since this is more of a bling-thing.

Now I just have to look around for a perfect 88 auto shift plate. The previous owner left a nice cig burn (between the left ash tray and the shifter). LOL...not really noticeable except to me.

These look fantastic i was going to buy new ones not now....

Thanks for the compliments! Australian, I used one coat of Dupli-Color primer, then finished it with three coats of the "chrome" paint. Not sure how long that will hold up, but nothing will go in them. Maybe I should have sprayed them with D-C gloss clear coat; I've always had good luck with that brand of clear. Goes on dull, but when it drys, its crystal clear. But...they looked great as is after the "chrome" paint, so we'll see.

Hey Dan, sent you an e-mail re: the '87 nose badges.

Cheers,
Tom

hey y'all. I got a question about body panel fasteners. Mine are POP Rivets. anybody else have these. I noticed in Mr. Paradises' last picture post that he has philips screws. all my panels are held with POPs. front hood, rear hood all up the edges. and on them alum. brackets. in the eng compartment. I hope at least one more of you have them also. could be another Mera Trait???? or unfortunately for me- NOT. anyway gotta jet, Later

Here are my body brackets:

Doesn't show in the pics, but the body brackets are attached with screws.

Interesting note; all my body panels are gray primered on the reverse side. I noted that Tom's are not.

OBTW, Beautiful ashtrays!

My body panels are not grey either. they are yellow weave.

Say,reholmes how are your panels on the sides of both deck lid skins front and back held on??
please say pop rivets?? I hope.

After seeing the backs of both of your louvers I can tell you that mine are reproductions, some how. My drivers looks good, and most of the passenger side looks good 'cept that wood area, but mine are made of two different materials. and the backs are completely flat. wonder where they came from??
