I was a member here about 13 yrs ago forgot my login and got out of fieros for some time and left it for a while. Resigned up years later when I got another fiero and made a few post but... when I came back the forum just seemed to be ...well a lot smaller and very few replies to threads and seems like the attitude of most turned to "search" instead of the exciting replies I used to see on here. So I loss interest again but I've been lurking for the past couple of years as its still a great place for info and I enjoy watching all the creative stuff people do with there fieros.
I've since moved on to other cars (currently enjoy my Porsche 911) but I still have a 3800 1987 fiero that is extremely clean, runs good but it just sits there. I do nothing with it, I have some pretty amazing fab skills and have gone back and forth a few times with making my own widebody kit like I did for my Porsche, buying a kit car to put on it, cleaning it up and just driving it but I keep coming back to ... na it can just sit lolol
I have $4k worth of go fast parts still in the box from zzp for the motor(along with a fresh short block 3800 motor on the engine stand) to make it a beast but I cant seem to get myself up to go work on this car.
I love the fiero and am still a big fan .. just no gumption for working on this car anymore. So what would you do in this situation? sell it all, hang on to it till I get a hair to do something with it or ??
Just curious what others might have to say. I wouldn't be surprised if someone says "search" lolol

When in doubt, come up with an idea that seems stupid/insane and create a build thread!
My favorite part about this forum is the build threads for crazy/unique builds. I love Fieros because they are so adaptable, cheap, and disposable. Some of the ideas people come up with are insane(and really cool!). And especially if you have other vehicles and fab skills, make something unique/odd, it might help motivate you. The build threads are pretty active around here.

I know you'll get a lot of "keep it, you'll regret selling it" responses - heck, we're obviously fans of the car
But my advice is to drive it for a week or so. Take it to a local Show 'n Shine, Cars and Coffee, Car Show, etc...... If you're not feeling it after that, then maybe it's time to move on. I've been close to selling my 87 GT a few times to move on to something else, but honestly it's only when she's put away for the winter (I'm in MI too), or down due to a mechanical issue. Once she's up and running, I fall back in love. Every time. I had the chance to trade her for a classic Camero a few years ago, and I was VERY tempted - but I'm glad I keep my GT. Not only do I enjoy driving her, I always get lots of positive responses from others. Everyone had or knows someone that had a Fiero back in the day, and they all seem to have fond memories, and I enjoy the conversations (and compliments )
You're the one who needs to make the decision - but if you're ever looking for another local Michigander Fiero Fanatic(TM) shoot me an IM.

Maybe the spark is gone. Happens. I have a Hayabusa sitting in my garage I have not ridden in close to 9 years. I like the thought of taking it to a car show and seeing how that effects your thought process.

hit the nail on the head there lol I love some of the crazy builds I have seen on here. the fiero is such a great platform for just about anything automotive. I have a Lamborghini diablo dash sitting in storage I've thought would look pretty cool in it....

Ya I think if I did that I would definitely want to keep it. Everytime I get close to selling it I come back to finding a reason to talk myself out of it. I know if I sold it I would be bummed.
caffeine and cars is Saturday down on commerce drive and I planned on going if it doesn't rain with the Porsche. if you up for a long drive lol your welcome to come along. should be a fun time. I'm always up for meeting and hanging out with car guys. its a commonality that guys can always come together on lol cars rock!! lol

ya probably wise before I kick myself for getting rid of it. its rust free and runs great. my only complaint is the interiors is trashed. plus all the goodies I have for it.. I just need to get some fire under my rear and do something.
Thanks guys, great responses. Brian

Interior is the easiest (for me). If you need a hand, some ideas, or parts - I'm not far from you, happy to help out. Sometimes a shared interest makes a great motivator.

What do you drive on nice days then? I can see if you just have to many toys that could be a problem. Like others have suggested I would start driving the car again and then see what your opinion is on the matter afterwards.

My daily is a built audi tt. It has about 300hp to the wheels, fun car.
But, if its sunny out... the 911. I was never much on porsches till I got a boxster about 5 years ago. then I bought a 911 about 3 years ago and tore it down and redid it and I wont lie.. that is by far the funnest car I have ever driven. it is amazingly agile, very quick and gets more attention then my supra, corvette, Camaro, mustang ever did.
This is a link to a video I made last week for the Porsche forum in regards to a lightweight fly wheel along with some other mods I did. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fwzq06vG7mI
This is a link to my build thread of the Porsche. https://rennlist.com/forums...steel-wide-body.html
