"Buy back." I don't buy guns from government. They can't buy back what they didn't sell me. They can confiscate and offer a pittance delivery fee added to my taxpayer owed national debt.
Dealers and private parties take permanently broken guns to voluntary buy back events.
Don't worry. Canada is already moving to ban hand guns. So finger guns are part of that.
"Canada is considering legislation to allow cities to ban handguns, which would also allow officials to void firearms licenses and enable friends and relatives to request weapons be confiscated."

Some of us in 3D printing are already working on designing and building frames based on movie or video game designs that do not meet the the "replica" threshold, similar to the paintball example above but will take the "guts" of whatever it is designed around.
Once you have the master file of the cut-out to accept "whatever" inner workings, its not that hard to build something imaginary around it. These arent the same as powder guns where "form follows function" and the mechanism is integral to the frame design. With these, frame and function are completely independent.
And the left can go **** themselves, It's NOT a Barret, its a rifle from the Destiny 2 game !

E-11 Stormtrooper blaster is actually a Stirling SMG with the magazine removed and a few plastic bits added, so under the new laws its "prohibited" as a replca.
