RIP my child hood would not have been the same without her. I hope that they don't politicize her passing. 82 is a good run, most of my family are lucky to reach 70.
Gilligan's Island was my favorite show....I thought something deeper was going on than just slapstick; Years later I was able to read a book by Sherwood Schwartz about the show and found that his original idea was to have all of the different types of people in society represented by the characters. Basically it was supposed to be a Microcosm of our world. He went thru H-E double-toothpicks getting it produced....
The head of the Network (Jim Aubrey) hated the show, and wanted to change it- over and over; First, he wanted to have Gilligan and the Skipper take a different group out every week to be shipwrecked and then rescued (Who would ride on the Minnow after the 3rd wreck?!)
Second, he wanted Gilligan to run into a......DINOSAUR! Sherwood killed that idea by pointing out that costs for special effects would be prohibitive.
How did that fool (Aubrey) get to be in charge of a Network?
Dawn Wells was a very nice lady- She even took care of Natalie Schafer her last few years before dying.
If you get a chance, read "Inside Gilligan's Island" By Sherwood Schwartz...It is a light read and very....funny.
Damn, someone dies whom a lot of us remember fondly from our childhood .. and this is your major concern? Only in O/T...
Soundly **** off.
Go read the news, every story I could find the first they they say is she died from Covid complications. At 82 the ****ing flu could kill you, one of the reasons I have never gone to see any relatives if I am sick. Ever. She had a good life, she was a sweet heart that is for sure but in the end none of us make it out alive. So next time if you have a problem send me a PM and I will tell you how I really feel.
For now I have other **** to do, you can just roll around until I feel the urge to come back.

Ok, I'll go on the record saying that as a kid I was in love with Maryann. I'm glad to learn now that she was really a nice person in 'real life' as well.
