Was supposed to be TNBT, but never really took off with the general public.

There was lots of anticipation because of the media and internet hype just before the thing was unveiled...even here at OT.

You will see some names from the past.....

You're going to give rinselberg a run for his money in the arena of creative thread titles.

I think the Segway scooter was the answer to a question nobody asked.

I never knew they were $6,000 street price!!! Perhaps Elon Musk will buy the brand and develop a useful and affordable product. Seems like $950 would be a good price point for a basic model, with various upgrades possible for more dough.

Well, for some reason ,can't get the link to work, but go to abc news.com and follow the links. Maybe someone else can correct the link to make it work. The guy that has supposedly seen it, says it's:
NOT cold fusion
NOT a better mouse trap
NOT a transporter beam (Star Trek)
But it will change the world and is bigger than the internet. Who knows?

Absolutely. I was simply teasing you (as I hope/trust you realized). Taking comments out of context is a favorite tactic of certain individuals in forum flame wars. This was just an example of how easy it is to twist someone's words.

One Big Problem is Kamen and others thought can/should run on Sidewalks etc except that most places already ban every "motor vehicle" and more. You can't run a bicycle, scooter, and many other unpowered things on sidewalks in many places either.

Many places changes/updates to rules/laws to specifically ban Segway to make no doubt was illegal on public walkways and roads.

So for that and other reasons most of the Public didn't want them, mainly only niche markets and many of them only need a few units.

Kamen left/remove from company over 10 years ago.
