I bought a complete 88 front suspension. It is sitting at my Dad's in Florida. Instead of paying costly shipping I figured I would pick it up later.

I think rental cars are going cheap and fuel costs are down. He has toilet paper.

Just a thought but it is gaining merit. Blackrams invited me to a Valkerie rally 4/15 ... but I think it is a work program, .

Let's debate that.

I tend to agree with you. Why Govt thinks it needs to fix everything is beyond me. I like the fund distribution better than the Nobama stimulus, where the Dumbs picked winners and losers.

No, not under the Trump plan.

Schumer's plan is that way tho.

quote
The administration’s plan may face opposition on Capitol Hill, however. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., argued on the floor of his chamber Wednesday that sending one-or-two-time checks would not provide enough to support people who lose their jobs.

Schumer suggested instead that providing expanded and “beefed-up” unemployment insurance would cover Americans “for a much longer time and would provide a much bigger safety net.”

Mnuchin has spoken with Schumer multiple times over the past few days.

I can call by name 10 people that I pass within my day that could use this relief fund. Most of us could. Bravo Mr. President.

Cliff,
The date was 4/17/2020 and the fact that I advised you to bring gloves, boots and protective clothing was simply to prevent any serious injuries during the "party". But, you're welcome to show up early to help prepare the location for the "party".

But, since you brought the subject up, if you happen to have a hammer, crowbar, shovel and extra air nailer, then you might as well throw them in also. I mean really, one never knows how such parties will turn out.

The wife and I are debating this. I didn't cash my "Obama Bux" check years ago. Not because of my hate for Obama, but because of a principle thing. I told her that I didn't think we should cash it this time either, but she has other plans...

So I'm thinking we should donate it to some organization where people that need it could get help. However, investing it is an interesting idea as well.

That would kind of defeat one of the goals this. They want you to spend it so it will boost the economy.

I shall spend it on another gun and some ammo.

Seems only appropriate and also a bit of delicious irony to me.

Taxpayer funded guns and ammo for the people!

I understand that. But I think taking money from my pocket, running it through the Government washing machine, and sending some of it back to me isn't really all that productive. I understand if someone needs the money, I'm all for helping the ones that need it.

Refusing to cash the Treasury check sent to you doesn't make it automatically go back into the general U.S. Treasury.

Un-cashed Treasury checks are classified as your unclaimed property and are held as such for many years.

People routinely ask to have expired US Treasury checks reissued and, after verifying that the requestor is the rightful owner, the funds are released to them from the unclaimed property account.

If you want it to go to a "more worthy cause" then your best approach would be to cash the check and give cash to your favorite charity or needy person.

Handing an envelope filled with $1k cash to a random homeless person would sure as hell cause them to smile......

....or it could cause this:

My mind is blown that y'all are positing about leftists in one thread talking about MAGA and fawning over this socialism in this thread.

If any of you spend one dime of this check you're supporting Trumps socialist ideals.

It's not socialist ideals. He is giving back a little bit of what was already stolen. Think of it as an early tax return or new type of deduction of sorts.

The entire income tax system is a socialist ideal. Until it's eliminated totally, use it to your advantage. You can bet your azz if I could find a way to make farting a deductable expense I would.

While, I'm not sure I support this rebate from Uncle Sugar, I do understand the intent.

This money is to try and keep the economy from crashing, not support those who won't/don't pull their own weight. We all know that millions of Americans are losing their jobs due to this virus. The loss of those jobs will bring this nation's economy down just like the stock market is tanking. There is a huge difference in "social entitlements" and the intent of this money.

My understanding of proposed corporate bail outs is that we (taxpayers) may become either full or co-owners of those corporations. Still thinking about that one.

Edited: I'm still wanting to know if "Illegal aliens" will benefit from this...……. Anyone know?

Senate Bill is based on tax filings.
Does this mean that if no return was filed, no benefit?

Oh, right, the Senate.

Look I get the red hats now. Bunch of commie pinkos.

If you don't have money, pull yourself up by your bootstraps and get workin'. Another thread talked about leadership and how the economy was steamrolling ahead!

Name calling is usually called out by lefties. Not today I say!

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez told you "that you cannot pull your self up from your boot straps. It is a physical impossibility!" Do you not listen to your leaders?

Stay safe people. Help your neighbors, friends, and family. Or, or go full leftie.

#1. The majority of posts in this thread prior to your above post either question the wisdom of the plan or make fun of it.

#2. Socialism is defined as: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods

Therefore, no one is "fawning over this socialism in this thread". I am not sure what point you are trying to make. Perhaps you could clarify your concern.

And, how old was that thread? The last three years, the economy has been rolling, tough to keep up that pace during a pandemic.

I guess one could buy a handful of store gift cards. That would help the store short term, and you could give the cards out long term.

How bout updating that screenshot

OK, here is a screenshot of Mar 13, 2020; the day which was the topic of that thread:

As most can see, it is clearly identical to the one in my original post.

Now, can you point out in that thread where anyone claimed that "the economy was steamrolling ahead!"?

edit: Any further discussion of the "Leadership" thread should take place in that thread.

I can't believe that your tiny mind is blown over the idea of our government responding to a national and international emergency and attempting to prevent our economy from collapsing by pushing some TEMPORARY cash into the economy.

NONE OF THAT makes President Trump or the United States government in any way "socialist".

More to the point, it's highly doubtful that you really understand what socialism is, where it comes from and, more importantly, what it does.

I have often said that the vast majority of people have the ideological IQ of a tree stump.

You appear to be living proof of my hypothesis.
