We are finally getting some temperatures that I can work in my own space instead of the neighbors. I'm a happy boy!

This is my new miter saw stand I picked up last winter. 48 wide. Once I'm done cutting it down and modifying it will have 2 wing supports and dust/scrap bins underneath.

My dilemma is the wings. I can hinge them which is quick-n-easy setup when I need the saw, but they can be hit and knocked out of alignment.

I can bolt them on, and they store underneath when not in use, but that makes setup finicky and time consuming to get the fences aligned.

The current setup is fixed, but takes up an entire wall. With space at a premium I need to get it smaller.

It started life as a store candy display. Not bad for 10 bucks.

I was going to say, I've never seen a 5 foot miter stand before.

Regular store bought stands are no good to me. I clamp on a stop and it's not unusual for me to cut 15-20 pieces in a batch. The extended fence to do that is a huge time saver.

Like the uprights on this

That's not mine but the same basic style I'm trying out this year.
