Crashing into it is a bad idea.

5,000 feet? He could have got there in a Cessna for 100 bucks.

"Mad" Mike Hughes, 64, crash-landed his

steam-powered rocket

shortly after take-off near Barstow on Saturday.

What could go wrong?

Not 'flat' went wrong...more of a concave shape.... Parachute deployed immediately after launch, was torn loose from the rocket and there was nothing to slow him down as he plummeted to a very round Earth..from about 2000' ft up.

Paying a hundred bucks for a plane ride doesn't get media attention.
