What they sell is all about feelings, "ban the scary looking thing, we saw them use that to do bad things on tv. My children will feel safer and I will feel safer, feel.. feel.. feel.."

Next on the "ban" list: 30-30s, shot guns, semi-auto hand guns, BB guns, etc. , etc. We hear current left/socialists candidates talking about letting local gov't enact their own gun laws, 2nd amendment be damned. Just what we need, another billionaire buying the white house to do as they see fit. I did vote for Trump, will again, hope he wins like before. Just kicks their a$$. Done my rant. Peace ya'll.

I am strongly against gun restrictions or "laws".
That being said: what exactly is an assault rifle?
What is the purpose for the designation?
Basically it seems that the term is identifying the weapon as a military use only war tool. If this is correct, then what isn't used by the military as a tool of war?
What guns can not be used as tools of war?
Clearly what gun grabbers want is to stop mass murders, and criminal activity with guns. But this begs the question "is the gun the reason for crime or is the gun just used as a tool by criminals during a crime?
