Tony Kania referenced him in another thread. I earlier thought about starting a thread but I didn't. I was wondering if this time he would live on his feet, or die on his knees again.
For those that don't know, Kapernick had a NFL workout display with 25 teams reporting some interest (the 26th being San Francisco ?). Kapernick wanted open media and his request was denied, so he held a private practice 60 miles away. It turns out he wanted to include a Nike film crew. It also turns out only eight teams attended.
I think I heard a hammer just go thud as the last nail was driven into the coffin carrying his football career opportunities. Interesting thing is, he was holding the hammer and driving that nail. No sympathy for stupid decisions.
All true. The "man" disregarded 25 teams, the NFL, all the paid hype, and went to a high school nearly an hour away after announcing 30 minutes prior to the show. Nobody could have made the travel in time. The lack of respect for everything this man does is all to apparent.
Those that are good with this turd, then follow him down the drain as we clean up this swamp that YOU created. Dissension and deflection.
He showed up wearing a shirt referencing *slavery*.
Bizzare choice of job interview atire.
I had a driver once who was fired for failing a random alcohol test.
He came in about six months later, begging for his job. There was no way in hell I was going to rehire him, but I had a really hard time keeping a straight face throughout the interview because he was wearing a hat which extolled the virtues of excessive consumption of alcohol.
He doesn't want to play....he want's to be a martyr and as long as Nike is writing him a check he will continue to force himself into the public eye. I will NEVER purchase a Nike product or allow a Nike product in my home as long as that A-hole is on their payroll.

This past weekend will undoubtedly mark the first day of his slide into complete obscurity.
The Nike contract and any other means of financial income that he has for just being him will now gradually evaporate.
HE destroyed his own last shred of any claim of being a "martyr" by making a complete carnival out of the chance for "redemption" the NFL offered him.
Stick a fork in him. He's done. Hallelujah.

I wonder if he is aware of all the people who disagree with the way he is exercising his God-given freedom to choose his own destiny. I wonder what the tire-changer at Walmart thinks about it?
Everybody lives their own life. That's America.
Come on, we really don't care. It just makes us feel better.

Has nothing to do with feeling better. Many of us who have followed professional football most of our lives DO care, because his own actions have affected us.

As a Redskins fan I cannot say I follow Professional Football but I agree that this ass-hat and his actions have caused harm to the game and hopefully to the bottom line of Nike.

I wonder what the shoe counterman thinks about it? Or the business owner?
I don't give a dam about football or this particular player. The only sport I ever cared about was racing, and then it is more about the machinery than the people. I can tell you about the cars, bikes, engines, suspension and the history; but I don't know much about the drivers. Good or bad, that's just the way I am.
What I do care about is America. Any player and his organization (team, league, sponsors, etc.) have the right to do as they wish and I have the right to despise them.

Sports, including motorsports, exist to entertain the fans. Without them it's just a private hobby.
The vast majority of people don't tune in to or attend sporting events to be lectured to about the participants personal grievances.
One of my past clients is the orthopedic surgeon for the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team and the Buccaneers football team.
He once told me: "Among the very worst business ideas in history is professional sports teams lavishing multi-million dollar salaries on marginally educated, young men with very little life experience and a serious lack of financial acumen. It makes those boys believe that they're a whole lot smarter and a whole lot more important than they really are, and it most often hurts them in life."
