Range is a problem with bows..just buy a cheap rifle with minimum night optics..at very least a barrel clamped laser dot and green qbeam.

Population density is a problem here. Even a .22 has too much range to hunt safely until the Bruce peninsula and north. Down here it's bow, crossbows, shotgun or sometime airgun for small game

If I can talk Kim into it I'll probably get a fully dressed crossbow for it.

9 times out of 10, your poa is a downward trajectory...hogs aren't as tall as a human unless it's a 5 yr old that's pulling the trigger. They don't fly and they don't climb trees.
Target acquisition...bullet placement.
People shoot and kill hogs in the 3rd most densely populated county (Harris..40 miles south of here) in the USA all the time..with everything from 5.56 up to 300 mag.
