I remember when Google threatened to pull advertising, claiming those kinds of photos "are not wholesome". Now Google is putting the same kinds of photos in their ads.
When our firewall blocks a site, it frequently tells why. I think it said that PaloAlto networks is hosted in a foreign country. Don't think it specified which one, though.

That's strange because Palo Alto Networks are cybersecurity experts and I'm very familiar with them here in the Bay Area. They actually help companies stay safe on the internet all around the globe.

Boon, I think you forgot, that google is the liberal machine and as such supports all the causes, and body shaming is one of the causes, Being proud of being a plus size is The new thing, now if that girl was a tight and tone And an hourglass shape, they have pulled it, as it just the feelings of those that think they are being body shamed.
One doesn't have to use google search for a browser to show ads related to browsing history. For example..just viewing a webpage that is about Chevy trucks or the 2020 Corvette would tend to result in an ad showing up on your next (and unrelated) webpage having an ad for Chevy trucks or other GM products. Google's bots do that for you even without using their search and Google isn't the only bit of software that does this.

Searching “extra large pizza” gets me a plus-size underwear model? Because I haven’t searched anything related to that add. Nothing female, no fancy underwear, nor breast cancer.
My concern is now the opening main page has to come with a NSFW warning?

It's not that simple. Some advertisers pay for extra exposure. So their ads may show up, even if your internet searches aren't related to their products.
That said, I really don't care if the ads match my internet searches. What annoys me is the hypocrisy of threatening to hang this website out to dry for not meeting their "wholesomeness" standards, then breaking those very same standards themselves.

Mine don't. Lately, I've been searching Google for a lot of auto racing related stuff. I'm literally getting NOTHING car or racing related in the PFF ads. But the women's clothing ads pop up incessantly.
Yup. And I’m not even that big of a fan of women these days.....their inability or unwillingness to differentiate between logic & emotions when drawing conclusions or making desisions is really starting to get under my skin lately.
It’s almost like a “get out of anything free” card.
So yeah, the last thing I want to see is a “practice girl” in $300 underwear!

Fixed that for you, .

Call me old fashioned. I don't do personal activities on the company dime. If I did, full fledged nudity would not negatively affect my 'image'. Likely quite the opposite.

There are places OTHER than work where an unexpected picture like that would not be welcome. I imagine for some, checking Pennocks in public (church, Chuck E Cheese, etc.) is no longer an option.
None of this is a problem for me personally. But it is interesting.
I must say that sister character of Flo has always been my favorite. Best looking by far. As for maryjane's screenshot of Flo, I never realized she was so buxom.

If someone is looking over my shoulder at my phone in a restaurant they deserve what they get, and if they want to get bent over it they will flat out get told to MYOFB.

I used to think that NSFW meant "wife", . It is not a problem for me either. She is a puritan and I am me, . Other people ? I am not their safe space, .
It knows I've been car shopping for my brother, but it's showing me a Ferrari 360, a Maseratti, and an Escalade, obviously it isn't listening to the word 'budget'
It's one of the rules of good Salesmanship 101. Sell up by selling down. Start at the top. People will buy more options than normal if you are taking options off than they will if you start at the bottom and add options.
I'm getting window and door companies...I was looking at doors on Kijiji yesterday on my phone with opera.
Kinda makes me wonder how deep Google's spying goes.
Remember that other apps on your phone (including the phone carrier) pay attention to what you put into other apps, and will hit you with ads based on that.
I still suspect that they listen, though it's been denied multiple times. I can talk about things with someone, and it shows up on my feed. And no, I'm not searching for these things.
