Didn't see this mentioned yet..2 were arrested earlier this month, and this week, 16 more after a short investigation and the military has rightfully chosen to make it all public.

quote
The leaders at Camp Pendleton sent a strong message this week as the investigation widened, ordering the 16 Marines to the front of an early morning battalion wide formation on Thursday and arresting them in front of 800 of their peers.

Arrested..not sent to desk duty. They are currently in the Camp Pendleton brig..that's military terminology for jail.
The CO did the right thing! UCMJ is going to be tough on 'em.

Taking bribes to transport illegal 'immigrants' to their next stop in their journey North....and, transporting drugs as well.
Just off the top of my head, I can count about a dozen different Articles of UCMJ these guys (allegedly) violated) but there are probably more.
I hope they all end up in Leavenworth with a dishonorable discharge.

Above all else, they violated and To keep our Honor Clean

Friggin greedy dirtballs.

Yeah i heard about this on the news. Pretty disturbing for sure. Hope they get the punishment they deserve, giving our good men and women in the military a bad name, not just here, but around the world.

In some liberal circles, these "men" are heroes.

Yup.
It should be no surprise that Money is King.
Since it's inception, it has replaced God, country, honor, loyalty, family, honesty, patriotism, love, trust, and virtue in many a human heart.
It's persuasion can buy a soul.

Depends on who is measuring you.
The ruler is not the same for everyone.
Some have lost all and not only came back but came back better.
Then there are those that have no idea what its like to not have.
They walk around complaining and updating social sites on a $600 phone, wearing $300 shoes and havent worked a day.

Updates are warranted regarding this.

In Nov 2019, a military judge, ruling on a defense motion, said that the defendants' command had violated their rights by arresting them in the manner they did..in full formation and then publicly calling them "bad Marines" and "a cancer on their battalion". The explanation being that The Marines declared them guiklty on the spot making it nearly impossible for them to get a fair trial. The judge said the public display of the arrests amounted to "unlawful command influence". That is when commanders use their positions of power to affect a case and compromise the ability to hold a fair trial. The judge said that if the prosecution cannot remedy the situation, the court would be left with only one option. Defense attorneys for some of the Marines immedially petitioned for that one option and e asked for charges to be dismissed.

In Dec 2019, The Marines opted to act administratively instead of thru courts martial. That translates to the defendants will be discharged from the Marine Corp, probably under article 134 UCMJ, usually referred to as General Art 134. Basically, it takes in anything and everything not specifically covered in any other articles of the Uniformed Code of Military Justice. Article 134 considers three categories of offenses which are not covered in any other article of the code. Failing to uphold these “clauses” in any fashion could incur a charge under Article 134 of the UCMJ.

These clauses include:
Offenses involving disorders and neglects to the prejudice of good order and discipline in the armed forces
Offenses involving conduct of a nature to bring discredit upon the armed forces
Offenses involving noncapital crimes or offenses which violate Federal law including law made applicable through the Federal Assimilative Crimes Act

The defendants will recieve at least a "discharge under less than honorable conditions"

Good. Then they can be arrested and charged by the Feds like anyone else would be.
