You know how when you see a car or even a train wreck up ahead, and you know it's going to be bad but you just have to look?
Wrecks just don't get any bigger than this one was.
I just wish it was in a different country..

I'd like to visit Pripyat, the city built in the 1960s to house everyone who worked at Chernobyl and their families; I even got as far as researching the various tours available to get there. But all of them insisted they wouldn't let anyone go inside the buildings, so I lost interest. I wanted to go inside. Of course, go on the Youtube and there are huge numbers of videos from people who went inside. So there seems to be some discrepancies.

On the other hand, you can tour the streets of Pripyat (well, some of them) using Google Street View...

half lives and all that jazz. Safer then living in Fukishima, or under large humming power lines?
