re: Islamic-style minaret as part of Notre Dame reconstruction
I see "an architect."
Architects (plural)..? Not from either of these reports that were published online at Jihad Watch and Voice of Europe.
quote
Perhaps most controversial is a proposal in Domus, the architecture magazine, by Tom Wilkinson, for the fallen spire to be replaced with an Islamic minaret, to memorialize Algerians who protested the French government in the 1960s.
Thinking of this in an NFL-derived conceptual scheme, to say (or imply) that "an" (one; single or singular) architect is the same as "architects propose..." or "there are propenents of...", is analogous to an inaccurate marking by the officials of where the ball should be placed for the next play from scrimmage. The ball carrier may have extended his arm forwards to put the ball down at the 42-yard line of his own team's side of the field, but that was after the play-ending whistle had been sounded.
Forward progress was ruled (by the whistle) as already having been stopped back at the 41-yard line, and that's where the ball should fairly be placed.

How many architects does it take to screw up a cathedral?
Sergio Ocasio was an architect and look what a mess he caused. I'm starting to think all architects are evil. At the very minimum, they should be on the no-fly list

That doesn't mean some nitwit wouldn't promote the idea.

Oh... absolutely... pretty much anyone who calls themselves a "progressive." They are so progressive that they want to regress to acts that were commonplace in 1095 AD.
