A fourth tourist has fallen to his death in less than a month. The canyon kills, on average, twelve people each year. That's one out of every 400,000 visitors.

Get the dump trucks rolling before another life is senselessly snuffed out. To hell with assault weapons, we have a government sponsored assault canyon, a deadly attractive nuisance right in my backyard.

How Many People Fall in the Grand Canyon?

quote
About 12 deaths happen each year at the Grand Canyon, including from natural causes, medical problems, suicide, heat, drowning and traffic crashes. On average, two to three deaths per year are from falls over the rim, park spokeswoman Kirby-Lynn Shedlowski says. Grand Canyon National Park had 6,254,238 visitors in 2017.

It is a national disgrace! All Americans should be ashamed. A disproportionate number of the canyon's victims are Asian, which proves that Trump is racist. I want antifa out here now! They need to set some trashcans on fire and spraypaint some cars. If it saves just one life.

When canyons are outlawed, only outlaws will have canyons! (actually they did make good hiding places back in the old days)

Think of it more as Darwinism at it's finest, keeping the gene pool cleaner.

I'm frankly amazed that so few people fall to their deaths at the Grand Canyon. When I visited there, I saw people hanging over the edge to pose for photos. Any of those people could have become a statistic in an instant.

They die because they dont pay attention to rules and signs. I have no sympathy for Darwin students doing what they do. Sign says "do not go past this sign, dangerous" , and thats just what they do. Some people are just naturally stupid, like who climbs over a fence and sticks their arm in a lions cage to pet them ? I used to have people park cars on my lot right in front of an eye level sign saying " do not park here". If they left them, i just hooked a chain to them and drug them into the street since police wont tow until its been there 24 hours.

Personally, I've advocated building a dam and filling it to the brim (rim) with water. Wouldn't that make a beautiful (huge) lake? Build it like Hoover Dam with generators for production of power. Heck, you could even set up a shore side stand selling life vests and boat rides. Buy yourself one (or two) of those Duck Boats. An opportunity passing like water under a bridge.
