Some might think that they are as far apart as two musical styles can be, but to me, they have a lot in common. To me, they both have the same feel, they both make me feel the same, anyway. They make my feet happy.

Both could be called ethnic dance/party music; both can trace their roots to European folk music and though everybody knows the sounds, they are still relatively obscure, esoteric in a way.





Thoughts?

I hadn't even heard of Klezmer. Sounds a lot like the Cantina band in Star Wars.

Zydeco is cool. Very much sounds like a fun jam.

Yeah both very Polka -y. In a good way.

Klezmer comes from Eastern European Jewish folk music and you can hear its influence in early jazz from dixieland to swing.
