We all know that Cohen is full of crap, now here is the indisputable proof:
https://www.foxnews.com/opi...ne-be-fired-for-lies

quote
Well, Cohen told Congress this week that he had a kind of a road to Damascus experience. He was personally and morally offended by what his boss said on two occasions. First, after the "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville, that was the summer of 2017 and later, when he watched Trump's meeting with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland about a year later. Those two scandals, both of them fraudulent, entirely manufactured by the left and its servants in the media, changed Michael Cohen's mind forever.

Democrats must have been gratified to hear that. Michael Cohen is a sensitive, progressive now. He is tormented by climate change and his own toxic masculinity. He is basically a one-man crusade against privilege. He is a new man. That's his story.

Well, now comes a Daily Mail piece that puts a different gloss on it. It turns out, just weeks before the FBI raided his offices last summer, Michael Cohen was shopping a book proposal. In the manuscript, which the Daily Mail has, Cohen professes love and admiration for Donald Trump. In the book proposal, Cohen defends the president against claims that he is "crazy, dumb, paranoid, in over his head or a liar" -- all claims that Cohen made this week before Congress. Keep in mind that Cohen wrote the book proposal well after Charlottesville and Helsinki, those scandals that just changed him as a man.

He is testifying under duress.

Duress??... I'm not so sure.

Michael Cohen was a lifelong DEMOCRAT until his client won the Presidency as a Republican.

Then in 2017, after the election, he changed his party affiliation to Republican.

On October 11, 2018 he changed his party affiliation back to Democrat.

His attorney is Lanny Davis, a long time CLINTON advisor and political strategist.

Cohen is a crass opportunist and right now he's once again playing to whatever opportunity he can.

Interesting...

Somehow I'm just not convinced that he is trying to keep his Ukrainian immigrant wife out of prison just out of his deep, undying love for her.

I'm more inclined to believe that his motives and actions would be quite a bit different were she not presumably holding independent wealth that he / they will need once his sentence is completed.

As a disbarred, convicted felon, his JD will not provide the kind of income to which he has become accustomed. He will need some something to keep him out of the trailer park, once he is released.

There are 8 million... [finish the famous ending.]

It's a quintessentially New York City story.

Oh. It's you, ... again. Are you yet again to display your critical thinking skillz ?

My, what an interesting request.

Without googling ... "stories in the city". I was thinking "stories in the naked city", yet that was back in the day, when any reference to sexuality was taboo.

Tell me. What does the statement mean ?

Wow, this story died quickly.
I guess even the liberal media knows he is just a slimy lying lawyer that will say ANYTHING to advance his cause. This time it was making up stories to write a book. He needs an income and saw this as an opportunity that suites his needs and skillet.

The leftists and their media dropped this "story" because Cohen unequivocally testified before Congress that he has ZERO evidence that the President colluded with Russia.

THAT was the "wet dream" they were praying for and it fizzled out just like the dozen other fantasies they have had for ousting a duly elected President.

Their useful idiot turned out to be useless.

"Never write a check with your mouth you can't cash with your ass."

A scene from "Off Limits" (1988)

So what we have here is a "mashup" of the Michael Cohen testimony with 1988's feature length cinematic drama "Off Limits", from Twentieth Century Fox.

Richard Lee Reed, cast as "Colonel Sparks", had the "Never write a check..." line. Shortly after that (in the movie), he committed suicide by jumping out of a helicopter. A memorable movie, and one of a number of memorable lines of dialogue.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095774/

The same "Never write a check..." utterance was assessed as a "bromide" in a review of "Sucker Punch" (2011), by Andrew O'Hehir in Salon(.com). A movie that I have not ever (and almost certainly will never) be acquainted with, beyond this review. Andrew O'Hehir summarizes the movie "Sucker Punch" in many ways, including as a "fatally flawed mashup", derivative of Quentin Tarantino.
https://www.salon.com/2011/03/25/sucker_punch/

Can "you" recall another instance when you encountered the "Never write a check..." epigram? Have "you" ever said that yourself, in exactly or very similar words?

Troll mission complete.

I will take your word for it. Having (a shocking admission, perhaps) not ever seen the movie, myself, and unable to find a record of the screenplay online with that particular line of dialogue.

Continuing media references to the idea that President Trump "dangled" a pardon for Michael Cohen after the FBI raided Cohen's home and offices at the beginning of April, 2018.

Reminds me that I wanted to take a look backwards, when President Clinton pardoned Marc Rich at the end of his (Clinton's) second term, at the end of 2000.

I stumbled upon an old report from the U.S. Edition of the U.K. Guardian:

"Pardons scandal engulfs Clintons"

quote
The deepening scandal of the presidential pardons enveloped Hillary Clinton yesterday when it was revealed that her brother, Hugh Rodham, received $400,000 (£275,000) from a convicted drug trafficker and a convicted swindler for his successful efforts to secure their pardons.
Mrs Clinton's attempts to distance herself from the burgeoning scandal were undermined further by revelations that William Cunningham, her campaign treasurer, had also taken money to lobby for pardons for two businessmen, James Fanning and Bob Fain, who had tax evasion convictions in the 1980s.

The scandal, which began life as a relatively minor glitch during the Clintons' departure from the White House, has grown to huge proportions and threatens not only to overwhelm Bill Clinton's attempts to rehabilitate himself after the Monica Lewinsky affair but also to cast a long shadow over his wife's widely reported aspiration to run for the presidency.

. . .
Julian Borger for the U.S. edition of the U.K. Guardian; February 22, 2001.
https://www.theguardian.com.../23/usa.julianborger

File it under "Golden Oldies", I guess. Pardon-la-mois.

I dont even listen to any news of what Cohen says about anything. I think hes just a mob lawyer. That probably goes away too now that his boss was murdered. His next big explosion may be his car when he starts it up.
