I also watched it. At the time, it was a great show. I have not seen it sense it was off the air, but I bet it would seem corny now days,...like a lot of shows and movies I have seen.

Roy didn't take his talent or ability so seriously that he made an a$$ of himself. He always had fun with his music and didn't mind being silly every now and then. Ya think any of these four pickers practiced those BORING scales? Roy Clark, Gatemouth Brown, Leon Rhodes, Cal Freeman a little more 'Gatemouth' for ya
