If in fact she is wanting to wait until an investigation by the F.B.I. has been completed and the Democrats can get agreement to that delay, I think until the new senate is seated is a bit shy of what to expect. Consider how long the Russia Trump investigation has taken so far and is still has no foreseeable conclusion. Consider all those Democrat holdouts ingrained in the wood work of the F.B.I. that have been dragging out the collusion investigation that still has not proven what it was supposed to be investigating. Sure it may have, [/i]may have[/i], found some hush money paid to a former **** star or whatever, but when was that the "aim" of the investigation? Since the start really as they are trying to find ANY skeletons to use Russia be dammed!

Instead I would think the F.B.I. investigation would become so intrusive as to do the same thing to Kavanauh as they have beem doing to Trump. They may not be able to prove these allegations of a drunken high school party, but you can be sure they will start looking in every dark corner they can find to try to find something while they drag the investigation for 2 years in hopes Trump will not be re-elected.
That my thoughts based on what the Democrats have been doing in their desperation to get power back. The total loss of the SCOTUS will be devastating. The more seats replaced by conservative judges, the longer the Democrat agenda will be unable to achieve it's goals as it's actions are challenged in court.
My thinking is that just as they believed Hillary would be president, they believe they will win the senate, then simply deny Kavanaugh's confirmation. That is why I posted about Sinema. That is what they expect the senate will look like. Failing that, they will devise another plan.

There isn't anything for the FBI to legally or even ethically investigate.
First, "Federal Authorities" have no jurisdiction over something that happened, (or didn't), in Maryland in the 1980's regarding "sexual misconduct."
Second, Maryland’s previous statute of limitations provided that child sex abuse victims only had to age 25 to sue (seven years from the date the victim reached the age of majority).
The new law in 2017 extends the statute of limitations to age 38.
The Law Does Not Help Victims Whose SOL Expired Before October 1, 2017
California law is also not helpful to this obvious nonsense.
The statute of limitations for "sexual misconduct" even a rape in California was, until 2015, a ten year limit on rape and sexual assault charges. In 2016, the state passed SB813, which revoked the statute of limitations. The law also ended the time limit on older cases, as long as the statute of limitations has not yet expired. However, the law does not retroactively remove the statute for cases that have already timed out. Clearly, anything that happened in the 1980s had "timed out" and therefore even State charges could not be brought and therefore, California investigators cannot open a case.
Washington D.C. law is even less helpful to this farce that even Maryland or California.
There is no reason or legal authority for "Federal authorities" or D.C., Maryland or California state authorities to investigate anything.
The Justice Department said in a statement Monday night that the FBI’s role during background investigations is to evaluate whether the nominee could pose a national security risk and then provide that information “for the use of the decision makers.” The department says it’s not the job of the FBI to judge the significance or the credibility of an accusation.

I believe that it should be full steam ahead. Just think about it for second, could Trump do anything that the Democrats will agree to? Soooooo, run them over if they try to slow Trump down. Carrere politicians know this is about stall tactics and a "democratic hope" that Democrats will show up in mass for the next round of elections. This hope is all they have because Trump has not been impeached and no chance of impeachment anytime soon. The left views The Constitution as a hindrance to their goals. They have for a while, led an all on assault against the first and second amendments. They have recently attempted to chip away at Article II and the 12th amendment, and are now working on the fifth and 14th amendments.
The left obviously objects to the long held principle of the presumption of innocence. They have demonstrated this, time and again. They object to Kavanaugh precisely because, as a Supreme Court justice, he will not allow The Constitution to be subverted.
