Really, the election was rigged by Donald Trump. By being honest. Who would have thunk ?
At the very first Republican Primary debate, I think the very first question was "would you support the nominee, if not raise your hand". Trump, the Donald, was the only one who did. Ditto for the General Election when asked if he would accept the results of the General Election. He said "I will see, look at it". Which raised a fury with the liberal main stream media, and the Hillary.
It's not a question of accepting that Trump legitimately won the election for POTUS. That's commonly accepted by many people who are not Trump supporters or "fans" of Donald Trump. People like me.
Before Trump took office, the top hats at the FBI, CIA, NSA and DNI (Director of National Intelligence) all signed on to a statement that Russia secretly pursued a covert project during the U.S. 2016 election cycle, which had the twin objectives of further ginning up some of the arguments and perceptions that were already divisive between various political and cultural factions or groupings within U.S. society--that polarization "thing"--and of using cyber-espionage (hacking of DNC and Clinton campaign's internal or insider email communications) to go against Hillary Clinton.
The Russian project also used their captive media channels (RT and Sputnik) and the popular social media platforms--Facebook and Twitter and Snapchat(?) and Instagram(?)--to distribute false or misleading stories that they expected to be received as actual news reports by some people among the U.S. electorate. Such as the fake news report that an FBI agent who had been involved in the Clinton emails investigation had died in a suspicious manner. (Just one example.)
That estimation by these U.S. intelligence agencies has not changed since Trump's first day in office.
The U.S. intelligence agencies that are signed on to this finding have not publicized any findings or suggestions that Clinton would have won the election, if it were not for the Russian project.
This Russian project has most often been characterized as "meddling" or "interference" in the U.S. national elections of 2016.
Intentional collusion (collaboration, coordination) between members of the Trump campaign and this Russian project? That is one of the questions that is being investigated as part of the Mueller investigation. The Mueller investigation is what it is. Will Mueller declare it complete any time soon, or will it still be an active investigation halfway through 2018 or even beyond? Whobody knows?
