Yes, they say "there's no active shooter but they are looking for a suspect". So who really knows what that means. Details seem scarce at the moment.

Seems like more incompetent police. The guy giving the press conference was asked "is he armed and dangerous" his response was "I guess, we didn't find a random gun laying around"... ...so the answer is YES.

They have pictures of him and his vehicle and they are holding a conference eating time to say they are going to release the pictures instead of actually releasing them.

EDIT
They released the pictures then the press quickly corrected the description given by the police rep of the suspect. It took 5 hours to get an accurate description of the shooter, apparently eye witnesses weren't good enough?

I don't dislike the police but time waisted on press conferences is nonsense. Get a description out ASAP, say he's at large, release pictures when you have them and do a press conference later.

Was the police incompetent or tooling on the media reporters stupid question.. people were shot, "well officer is he armed and dangerous "

Maybe the official that was doing the media 3 ring was sick of the stupid questions and gave a wiseass reply..
More should.. as most of the questions are stupid and a waste of time..

They have to make sure that the photo's are of him before releasing them. I'd own the city if my mug and car was plastered on tv and I wasn't the shooter..

Suspect described as "nonchalant", walked out of the store after shooting with a handgun and then drove away in a red, 4-door hatchback.

Seems to have targeted people inside the store at random, according to this update from Reuters.

For 5 hours, they hadn't released any info on the status of the shooter. They then have a inaccurate description and said he was still at large, they then released pictures and were corrected by the media viewing the pictures.

Yes it takes time too get the pictures, that's not surprising that it took 5 hours but I'm having a hard time believing for 5 hours they didn't know he was at large and they they had no description from eye witnesses. Because they released no info, for 5 hours no civilian has had a chance of spotting him, that's a lot of time to drive or get lost in the woods. 5 hours is enough time he could have been more than half way to Mexico.

Well, speaking of arm chair quarterbacking, I'm in...........

Watching the NBC evening news, it was reported that Walmart (in store) video recorded several people with concealed weapons, pulling those weapons.

Now, I'm sitting here asking myself why they didn't do something. No, I don't have any more information. Maybe they were in different parts of the store, maybe they had children to protect first, maybe it happened so fast they didn't have time to react, maybe a lot of things..................... I don't know.
So, I'm not saying there was any cowardice involved. But, I really don't understand why anyone would have a concealed carry and not defend those who are unarmed in such a situation. Yeah, I know that we don't have enough information........................

Maybe I spend too much time with my friends who are LEOs and Firefighters. You know those guys who are running the opposite direction of those running from danger.

A concealed carry holder would not want to go looking for the shooter. They should wait until the threat presents itself in the area they are in.

100% this. Well, maybe 99%, but it is better to lie and wait. You do not get a respawn.

Because the guy to tried to stop the walmart shooter in Vegas got shot in the back of the head by the second shooter. But yet they kept saying how the cops who got shot in the back were heros, but the guy who tried didn't get mentioned being a hero, being a cop does NOT make you a hero, trying to stop a shooter DOES. Total BS.

Fortunately in this case, the shooter shot and walked away. Had he been trying to kill as many as possible, more people would have fired but someone who was carrying might have stopped him. Ultimately everyone was fortunate the guy left.

Motive is unknown but reports suggest it might have been race driven. He shot 3 people that were together, all have Hispanic names. Neighbors claim he was very unfriendly, swearing and yelling at people over minor things but didn't have any details on the motive.

I know you're right and agree, that's the smart thing to do for self preservation. It's just hard for me to not react to things like this.

In our next conversation, remind me and I'll tell you a story of something that happened while I was stationed in S. Korea.

Not only self preservation during the event, but also for after the event when the law and the lawyers get involved.

I am betting that you thought that I thought this. If you did, you are a moron. Sorry, but your assumptions make you the fool, not me.

Perhaps I am not being polite about this, but I take my shat seriously. NO, I was not advocating hunting people.

If I am incorrect, then I am a moron in regards to your post.

How about NO ONE call ANY ONE a moron for Pete's sake.

Just for the weekend.

Sorta like a forum version of Baltimore's "Let's Not Kill Anyone This Weekend" initiative.

Didn't work there, maybe here?

I cannot do it. I can tell all here that I will, but in all honesty I just cannot do what you ask. I speak like this, and have little control of it. I refuse to allow time for appeasing others about the way that I talk. I never had an issue until I arrived in a very liberal land. I have to deal with how others speak the language, I can only ask that you allow me the same privilege. I at least try to come across as intelligent, but I will not stop swearing or name calling. I have toned it down on numerous occasions. In this thread, here, I am a moron. I misread another's post, and spoke my mind. I even mentioned my probable mistake, and apologized. I give way more than many of our left swinging dicks.

And then again, this is just an internet forum, and I could be a Russian Collusion Bot. Maybe I am not the real Tony Kania? We traveled this road before.

Please, I'm not trying to limit anyone's speech. You all should know by now how I feel about the 1st amendment.

However, how about just a smidgen of decorum?

You don't agree with someone? Fine. Beat them about the ears with facts and logic. You don't need name calling.

What the hell is so hard about that?

I've been in California working and haven't watched the news, but this is my local Walmart (I live about 2 miles away).

It proves the point that this crap can happen anywhere at anytime.
