CNN and MSNBC reporters seem absolutely giddy. We have two days with which to make wild guesses before the hammer falls.

What do you think? Almost anything is possible. I haven't got a clue.

The pressure has been on all week for him to save the Dems from their own crash and burn on the Russian collusion.

Basically somebody they know they can take the red stapler from.

I heard from a friend's former roommate's cousin's ex girlfriend that they'll be arresting Trump himself. That's reliable right?

What bothers me about all of this, whether it be Trump's presidency or had it been Hillary's, is the amount of leaking that goes on. Even top secret information manages to get leaked out within twenty-four hours. There are certain things that, for the purpose of national security, need to remain secret. What will happen if someone leaks out any plans to deal with North Korea? Russia? Iran? Do they not think that these countries will be watching our news and react appropriately? If these leakers think that they're doing a great service to this country by attempting to discredit the current administration, they're sadly mistaken. If they're found, they should be both dismissed from their jobs and imprisoned. But I guess as long as one of the cable news networks gets their exclusive story, that's all that really matters.

I love the way our system "works" now.

Someone has done things, they lay out the evidence, and walk us through all the illegal stuffs... But they didn't have intent to do illegal things, so it's all good.

Someone else Hasn't done anything (that is obvious to anyone based in reality) and they will dig until they find something.

That's not how our system is supposed to work.

Manafort

Tax evasion and / or money laundering going back to 2012 or before.

No so-called "collusion" between campaign and Russia.

NBC just announced Paul Manafort and some aide are headed to the court house to turn themselves in.

Edited: Rick Gates, whoever that is.

Edit II: NBC is reporting that the charges are concerning TAX related issues. The indictment has not been released as yet so, again we're relying on unnamed sources. Nothing mentioned about collusion.

You can read the complete 12 count indictment here, (it's public now): https://www.politico.com/f/...51-af7f-7f735cc70000

Like I said yesterday, it deals with tax evasion, money laundering and (I forgot to mention) FBAR,

The "Conspiracy against the United States" charge arises from Manafort and Gates allegedly lying to DOJ, (FBI), and the IRS, and allegedly "obstructing".

As I also said yesterday, the complaint alleges ZERO connection between the Trump campaign and the charges against Manafort and Gates.

The leftist innuendo, speculation and outright lying festival has already commenced though. Did you expect anything else?

NOTE: There is a big problem with how this particular indictment came to be and that will likely imperil prosecution of the case.

That is partly why you saw what amounted to a "pro forma" surrender, arrest, and bonding happen so swiftly today.

Once again, I'm only *guessing*

Paul Manafort, Rick Gates and one more: George Papadopoulos.

"WIRED" has a column on it.

MONDAY MORNING, JUST hours after pundits had settled into dissecting what everyone assumed to be the day’s big revelation—the indictments of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and his former business associate Rick Gates on a slew of charges related to an alleged money-laundering scheme—came an even bigger revelation: George Papadopoulos, foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign, had struck a plea agreement with Robert Mueller’s special counsel office.

WHAT THE PAPADOPOULOS PLEA SAYS ABOUT MUELLER'S NEXT MOVES
Garret M. Graff for WIRED; 30-OCT-2017.

Correct. Nothing to do with President Trump or any so-called "collusion" by the campaign.

By the way, collusion, in and of itself, is NOT a crime. You have to have colluded in the commission of some unlawful act.

I also see that I "nailed it" with this comment:

SEE the post from our resident psychiatric patient, Ronald, above. (He thinks it's earth shattering news...)

Note that George Papadopoulos was arrested 4 months ago and the sole charge against him is lying to the FBI.

His "cooperation" resulted only in the indictments against Manafort and Gates. https://www.justice.gov/file/1007346/download

"Sing" what?

Look. This is really pretty simple.

If the special investigators had ANY solid evidence of linkage of what these guys are charged with to President Trump himself or functionally to his political campaign, you would NOT be seeing these arrests NOW.

They would have waited to make their case(s) on a broader scale, against more "substantial" suspects,...... if they had any.

This isn't a Hollywood imaginary fiction movie where they "grill" the bad guys and get them to "sing" and give up the whole gang.

Please leave the childish fantasies to the leftists.

Chris Hayes and guests are on MSNBC practically salivating and saying that they now have all the evidence they need to prove Trump colluded with the Russians and that they wouldn't be surprised if impeachment papers are filed sometime next week. It is the beginning of the end of Trump. I guess they have to play to their base.

Their "base" audience is hard leftist liberals that are unable to discern opinions from facts.

I don't know how anyone could think that those same lefties would be able to discern allegations from evidence any better.
