I read it cost thousands of dollars to attend. That deterred me.
This year a Ticket is $425 + $80 car pass. Once there, everything is FREE. The only thing they sell is coffee and ice, the proceeds from both go to the two nearby towns school system and such. As you need ice to survive a week in the desert, and coffee, as the founder likes coffee.
But nothing can be sold there by anyone, it is a "gift system" people give all kinds **** away to people, there are a bars everywhere, some you have to play some type of game to get a drink, tell a joke for a drink etc...
But the ART there is just mind blowing, things you would/could never imagine. And some only exists for that one week and some gets burnt. Not to mention the fire, the fire is just awesome. Like a trebuchet that flings a pianoon fire 100 ft in the air, just for a small example. A flamethrower shooting gallery, A Thunder Dome,....
It is SOOOO much fun, it really restores faith in the human race for me. This will be my 12th year.
The art, the fire, the people, the music, it is just awesome.

One year when we lived in Sparks there was a storm that blew through during Burning Man. The participants vehicles and bikes were all covered with a layer of white sandy paste. That was quite a show for days after as they went down the Pyramid Highway.
[QUOTE] Pershing County Sheriff Jerry Allen said the man ran through a human chain of security officers.

Isn't it strange that after a bombing, everyone blames the bomber, his upbringing, his environment, his culture, his mental state but … after a shooting, the problem is the gun.... Open your frigg'n minds, think about all the other tools that can be made into WMDs.
I sincerely hope that life is never discovered on another planet because, sure as hell Progressives and Socialists will want to send them money.
