So after this Charlottesville protest and counter protest got me thinking......I am lazy! I have never protested for anything, for the left or right, even up or down! Sure I have opinions on what poeple protest but I have never felt the need to agree or disagree with them in a public setting. Sure there are some meaningful protests in my mind but this Charlottesville protest and counter protest, I could care less about wither way and think both sides are wack jobs.
So have you ever joined a protest? Have you ever organized a protests? Were the protests you attended peaceful or violent (physical altercations or property damage)? What was the subject you protestet? what side did you represent? Would you do ti again? OR are you like me and aren't generally interested in protesting and could care less.
Only protest I ever took part in was a work-to-rule against extremely abusive management. We are talking somebody who would explode in pure rage in the workplace, so we organized a one-day "**** you" to give the little hussy an attitude adjustment. Couple months later the company moved her to another branch.
I have never protested. I have crossed angry picket lines of union workers to well, work.
Nothing wrong with a protest. It is this left leaning destructive protests that are the issue. We even have other members believing that antifa is good and needed, and that the past two years of the left protesting with bats, pipes, acid, make shift bombs, shields, and "battle gear" is because of the alt rights recent (very recent) use of the same tactics.

I am apologizing for my misunderstanding of antifa. I'm glad that I never visited one of their sites. I would be on a watch list now. Maybe I am anyhow.

It's not your fault, you've only been told what they stand for 4-5 times in the last 12-14 months.. And I thought I had a thick head.
Protesting....nah. Never had a reason to get me motivated to hold up traffic and such. Now if a call to arms occurred to beat down the pending civil insurrection, I'd be there. It would be kinda fun. I'm a good marksman.
There are some "Freedom of Speech" Rallies planned for this upcoming weekend. If one were to take place locally, I would attend and show my support. Do I agree with all of those who may be in attendance? Doubtful but, I fully support the right to get up on your soap box and tell the world where you stand.

Isn't it strange that after a bombing, everyone blames the bomber, his upbringing, his environment, his culture, his mental state but … after a shooting, the problem is the gun.... Open your frigg'n minds, think about all the other tools that can be made into WMDs.
I sincerely hope that life is never discovered on another planet because, sure as hell Progressives and Socialists will want to send them money.
