Not bad for a company that was only an idea in 2002.

That was a cool landing. It's kinda blocked with the brown smoke but pretty cool anyway.

I was surprised it was still supersonic so low to the ground. The dual sonic booms were awesome.

Flying cars are just over the horizon.......

Watched it live yesterday; absolutely fascinating how quick the first stage made it to space, detached from it's cargo, and made it back to ground. Made it look routine.

I want to know how much of our tax dollars have been sunk into this "private space company" .
Bet it is in the multi billions..
So, it is nothing but a cover for nasa's budget..
Now we'd have something if this was done with none of that.. but that isn't the case..

All of out space program is and has been funded by tax dollars. Where is your praise of private enterprise? It looks like private enterprise in this case is partnering up with the government and it's working more efficiently.

When my tax dollars are fronting a company that is traded on the market.. and the general public is not told their money is going to this, there is a problem..

SpaceX is not publicly traded, not yet at least. I believe their plans are to go public when they start offering private trips to space, so around 2024 I think. I want to say I recall seeing that Nasa IS contracting them (or will be in the future) but so is Boeing for that matter.

Personally I think Elon Musk is the real life Tony Stark and a brilliant man. I'm thinking anything he touches is going to "turn to gold".

I think without the taxpayers hand outs he still be a dreamer like everyone else..
