He is just doing what all Presidents do, so this is really a non-story. If you really want your blood to boil, check out the pardons handed out by the last 5 or so Presidents on their last days in office. Then cross reference that to donations and other political favors. I'm conservative and generally vote Republican or Tea Party, but they are all crooks at every level of government. It is just a matter of getting the lesser evil.
It's really our fault -- we wouldn't elect an honest politician, if such a thing existed. Too many people would hear stuff from him/her they don't want to hear, and all the competing special interests and political hackjobs, who are no longer having their bread buttered, would slaughter said honest person in the court of public opinion. We would hear the headlines, clever news clips, and one-liners, while not investigating the details, and learn to hate the politician.
