That "nuke mecca" concept is starting to sound more and more like self-defence, aint it?

Aw, well. Welcome to Europe... Err... Canada.

Yeah, OK. Can they package up one of the crescent thingies on top of the mosque that serves as Mohammed's tomb? I'd like to have a keepsake. Something for the fireplace mantle. Or maybe a chip from that slab of black rock they're always milling around... the "Kaaba Stone".

The truth is... I REALLY have a hard time with Islam. It freely admit my bigotry, but I feel like it's well-founded.

I was a changed man on 9/11. I've lived my entire life sheltered, never having a second thought about anyone or anything... everyone truly is the same as far as I'm concerned, but that day I changed. The callous, unwavering hatred that they had towards us... the fact that they would be freely willing to give their own lives to indiscriminately kill whoever and whatever was on those planes (and in those towers) regardless... is just something I couldn't comprehend. It's different than a crazy person doing the same thing at a mall or a school. Those people are nuts. This is a coordinated, supported, and global initiative. The fact that right now, there are 100+ million people who want the total destruction of America... JUST because we aren't Islamic, is beyond my comprehension.

It also INFURIATES me how "peaceful" (and I do say that in quotes) Muslims could be so quiet about this. Setting aside the King of Jordan, you've basically got 1 billion additional people on this planet who don't really speak up.

Let me put this into perspective. If the Catholic Church was day in and day out killing everyone who wasn't Christian that they could possibly get away with... blowing up planes, running people over in parks, I would DEMAND that my congregation do EVERYTHING they could, both vocally and physically to tell Pope Francis this is unacceptable. I would demand the immediate ousting of the entire Vatican, and I'd take a serious hard-look at myself and why I was even going there. If this persisted for more than 2 weeks (about as much time as it would take me to get my head together), I'd quit the church completely. Doesn't mean I wouldn't believe in God, because I know this definitely goes against the teachings of the 10 Commandments, and especially, those of Jesus Christ (who made nice with all the aggressiveness in the first 4/5ths of the Bible). I'd abandon the church so fast, your head would spin. I wouldn't have to give up my faith, I just couldn't be a part of something like that.

I fully understand the history in the middle East... the constant meddling from Europe. But you back farther and realize that... even 1000+ years ago, this was going on even before colonialism. I went to a Catholic University... it was all stacked by liberal teachers; however, they finally agreed to let me do a paper on the Crusades, so long as I agreed to cover the atrocities that the Christians committed along the way. What I discovered is that it wasn't just the Christians blazing across Europe, trying to convert everyone to Christianity and "let-loose" prisoners, rapists, and thieves.... (as I had been taught in public school). I learned in fact that, prior to 1095 AD and Pope Urban's call to arms, Islam had been purposefully forcing their way throughout the Byzantine empire, including Spain and Western / Eastern Europe.

I mean, part of the reason why I'm darker than most white people is BECAUSE Islam had forced it's way... pillaging and razing, through Spain. So all of us who are Hispanic are actually part Arab as well (unless you're straight Native American from South and Central America). The Crusades were an attempt to regain land that had been lost as a result of Muslim incursion. It didn't end with Saladin and Richard of Lionheart.... they are STILL doing it today. 1000+ years later, and they STILL want to create a Caliphate.

They kill gays by throwing them off buildings, they mutilate women and children, and females are basically slaves.

A week doesn't go by that I don't see a bombing, or someone mowing down a group of people with a car.

WHY should I have sympathy for these people?

I'm not a Democrat, I refuse to save and care about people that DON'T WANT TO BE SAVED AND WANT ME DEAD.

Gosh, that seems to be a little closed minded...........................

Isn't it strange that after a bombing, everyone blames the bomber, his upbringing, his environment, his culture, his mental state but …
after a shooting, the problem is the gun....

The next thing you know, they'll be using motorized vehicles to mow down pedestrians. Wait, that's already happening. OK, ban vehicles......

I personally quit church, did a lot of soul searching, and became Agnostic after the last church I went to spouted the old familiar "Nobody in any of the other churches around are going to get into Heaven except the members of this one."

The problem, as I saw it was that the churches around there were all Christian, and except for some minor differences (way they pray, clothing they wore.) were basically the same.....

I quit my religion because I didn't think that as a man of faith, that I should judge what other people did, and having someone in charge of our group (the flock) announcing what God's plan was for other people seemed a lot wrong to me, and against the teachings of the Bible.

I have to guard my opinion of Christianity in general. I am VERY happy for anyone that celebrates Christianity / Christ. But for me... being Catholic just makes sense (hear out my logic). For one, I'm a HUGE fan of Pope Francis. I know he's hard-core socialist / liberal... but he is a VERY, VERY, VERY honest man. He lives exactly how he preaches. He watched the world cup on a small 14" tube TV that he BORROWED from a Bishop, and he watched it in his room in the Vatican which is smaller than the master bathroom of the home I just bought. Don't get me wrong, the Pope's quarters is a mansion... but he doesn't live in it, he purposely stays in a smaller room... again, being pious and treating himself as the #1 servant. When someone crazy runs over to him and breaks past the guards... does he run? does he try to defend himself? No, he gives the man a hug and prays for him, and he gives him food, water, and medical care. I mean... damn.

The Catholic church follows the bible every Sunday like clockwork. You know that every person around the world that is also in a Catholic church is reading the same passages you are. I think the Protestants are too... but I dunno.

Now, what I am about to say, I mean no disrespect to anyone of other denominations, but MANY of the other Christian denominations, including the non-denominational ones... it seems like church has more to do with the preacher, than it does the Bible and Jesus. So... this bothers me, I disagree with that.

Again, I'm not going to criticize, but even though in the Catholic religion we are much more strict (everything is done in sequence, every Sunday, in order, etc...) it still feels like a family, but not one that demands or asks anything of me.

Anyway, I don't want to talk bad about the other denominations, but it's just not my thing.

I'm happy that you are at least agnostic... you believe there's something.
