I don't like the Democrat party at all, but the trailer doesn't convince me of a thing. I also don't know much about the author, other than what's in Wikipedia.
In any event, I suspect it will be mostly "preaching to the choir", or denounced as a fantasy, no matter how factual it is.

If it was showing in my area or even close I would go see it. I already know a lot of this stuff, but seeing it done well in a movie format would be good.
Mr Dinesh D'Souza is saying very publicly what I have said among friends and family for 20 years.
They didn't end slavery and give blacks equal rights, They nationalized it and equalized the suffrage. As an American (black, white or other) you are a slave to the federal government. Your labor, Your trade, your investments, your profits - aka your earnings, property and Promise are taxable.
The only thing missing is the slave quarters, provisions and controlled breading. Once you depend upon the government for housing, food and health care, it will cost you - your property, prosperity and last - your humanity. You will be treated like working farm animals. Just look over the past 2 decades at how the government responded to economic catastrophe. "Go back to work, buy something, take out a loan, go about your lives as if nothing happened." Just calm the herd down so they'll start grazing again.
we can call it what we wish and cloak it in pretty, reassuring words but slavery is what it is. Anyone, including government, who is legally entitled to a portion of your income before you even earn it, is your master. If that image offends you, it should. And the fact that this master prints the money, redistributes it and decides what percentage is adequate for you and your family should scare the hell out of you.
The Koch brothers have no clue or concern for my existence. But, I'm suppose to believe that someone in congress or the executive branch is looking out for me. The government has know interest in your existence unless you owe back taxes, embezzled money from them or did something publicly that could embarrass them politically.... sadly, they have utterly decimated the family structure and then claim to offer comfort, assurance and affirmation with a straight face...
A prison does not need fences and armed guards when the inmates fear the loneliness and uncertainty out side of the borders they have been conditioned to accept as security.
Today's republican politicians have their own guilty in this but, even as it became illegal to own another human being, it did not stop them from owning another person's LIFE.

It's not limited to the Koch brothers. The ones you never hear about in media are probably the worst offenders because the system protects them. How often do you hear about George Soros on the MSM? You're on the right track, but the problem crosses all parties.

Who says any of that is missing? There's Section 8 housing, EBT Cards. and eugenics programs with forced sterilization.
They're getting better about making the chains comfortable so the sheep are not as likely to rebel. Dominant, masculine traits are out of favor. Social engineering teaches us the "modern man" is passive, sensitive, nurturing. A neutered dog is much less likely to bite.
The prison on Kauai has no walls, or fence.. just mobil homes that are the prison, and the yard, with a few picnic tables.. and a garden they grow vg's in.

Which is why I have stated there have been slaves in this country for at least my entire life--some more tightly shackled than others. Better not turn your back on that old cow boys, she'll have you down and rubbed into a damp spot before you know what happened.
True, as long as one doesn't just swap one set of shackles for another or jump from one hot pan to a hot skillet. The objective is always to improve one's situation. But yep, while we're walking or jumping, we're free.

Every chain that shackles us is of our own design...
I saw the movie last night. Many of us already know much of what was presented; about Andrew Jackson, Woodrow Wilson, Lyndon Johnson, Saul Alinski and the Clintons. The problem is that the people who really need to see it, never will.
