If you live close by the Cape in Florida look up at 0439 on this Sunday and watch the Endeavour Shuttle lift off.

They say this will be the last night time launch. If I can get up in time I'll be sure to watch it.

Do NOT miss it, if you haven't seen a night launch! They are spectacular!!
From 5 miles away with virtually no ambient light - it's bright enough to read by.

I lived in Orlando in the mid sixties. Everyone would watch Walter Cronkite until about t minus thirty seconds, then run outside and look east.

Supposedly, that was the last night launch for the Space Shuttle. I watched it this morning. Cool stuff, as always. There are 4 Shuttle launches left. If you have a chance to see one of them, DO IT. It's definitely worth it.

Two of us drove from Tallahhassee in an MGB to see the very first launch.
I never ignore a shuttle launch, and yes, I froze my azz off to see and hear this one.
Mans reach should always exceed his grasp, I think.

Maybe it was a waste of our tax dollars, but this program made me, and most Americans, very proud.
Isn't that worth something?

(I'm donning my flame suit)

It's things like this an American can be proud of. Too bad they will soon be gone.
