Well I guess it is time to start the countdown. i need to find a countdown clock. I'll get to it later. There is plenty of time. I think there is time anyway.
. .
Here is a nice video I'll post for posterity. Might not be able to post this kind of stuf in the years to come.

I think part of the problem is that people are socialists and don't even realize it. They believe in socialism to a degree, but aren't reading books by Marx or attending communist party meetings. They simply believe that, since they have less, those with more should have some taken away. Maybe we should call them "backdoor socialists".
I happened to catch a bit of Hannity's radio show the other day. He was doing a spot called (something like) "man in the street". He interviewed this one woman who was complaining something about New York City mayor Bloomberg, something about how he's rich and she isn't, so he should be sharing his money with people like her because that would be fair. I wonder how many people are like this - don't know much about politics or political philosophies like socialism, but think that way on their own, and don't realize what it really means?

What you said fierobear is true. There are tons of people out there that are "backdoor socialists". My best friend no less, is a "backdoor socialist" Thinks things should be fair for everyone. Everybody should just have stuff handed to them. Everybody be equal. What these people need to learn is that life ISNT fair. Some people work hard, earn money and have a good life because of it. Others just sit on their ass and wish they had everything that the "rich" guy has, they think that it should be handed to them. Its crazy.
Americans have become lazy, stupid, and ungrateful. Too many bleeding hearts in the world.
Ooooh! And imagine the excitement...it looks like we're zeroing in on $12 TRILLION!
Something on that clock doesn't add up. It says that the national debt is 12 trillion dollars while the foreign-owned debt is about 3.5 trillion dollars. Who owns the other 8.5 trillion?

The $12 trillion figure also includes debt to the Federal Reserve, treasury bond holders, insurance funds, etc. You can find a detailed breakdown HERE. And BTW, the national debt is almost as big as the national GDP. Pretty soon, our country could owe more money than it makes. Sounds like fun, doesn't it?
On a related note, when does the "Anyone but Barry" campaign start?

It doesn't, because we're too smart for that s***. We'll be holding whoever replaces him to the same standards. Hopefully, we'll have put the fear of God into whoever runs against him, and that person will be for more responsible spending. Republicans ain't gonna get any passes - they'll have to do the right thing, period.
Here's an email I received today. It fits perfectly in this thread.

Even the Canadians are laughing at us! > > YOU MUST READ ALL OF THIS NOTE! EVEN IF YOU VOTED FOR HIM!!
> Barack Hussein Obama: I Told You So > By Howard Galganov > Montreal, Quebec, Canada > > When Obama won the presidency with the help of the leftist media, Hollywood and entertainment liberals, ethnic socialists (ACORN), stupid non-business professionals and Bush haters, I wrote: It won't take six months until the people figure this guy out and realize how horrible a mistake they've made. And when they come to that realization, the damage to the United States of America will be so great it will take a generation or more to repair - IF EVER . > > The IDIOTS who not only voted for the messiah, but also worked hard to promote his lordship, are now left holding the bag. > > Here are two things they will NEVER do: they will NEVER admit to making a blunder out of all proportion by electing a snake-oil salesman with no positive social history or management experience of any kind. They will NEVER take responsibility for the curse they've imposed upon the immediate and long-term future of their country. > > In essence, the people responsible for putting this horror show in power are themselves responsible for every cataclysmic decision he makes and the consequences thereof. > > In just six months, the messiah's polls are showing the following: on Healthcare Reform, he's going under for the third time with polling well under 50 percent, even within his own party. Even though he might be able to muscle a Healthcare Reform Bill by using Chicago bully tactics against his fellow Democrats, it will just make things worse. > > > On Cap and Trade (Cap and Tax), the fat lady is already singing. On the Stimulus Package (Tax and Spend), his popularity is in free fall. On the TARP package he took and ran with from President Bush, it's all but Good-Night Irene. On the closing of GITMO and "his" war on what he no longer wants called the War On Terrorism, he's standing in quicksand with his head just about to go under. > > > It seems to me Obama wants to be everywhere he shouldn't be. He's personally invested in totally insulting America's only real Middle Eastern ally (Israel) in favor of Palestinian despots and murderers. He's traveling the world apologizing for the USA while lecturing others on how to do it right, when in fact and truth he has no experience at doing anything other than getting elected. > > He went to the moslem world in Egypt to declare that America "is not a christion nation" while he heaped praises on Islam, where he compared the "plight" of the Palestinians to the Holocaust. > > The Russians think he's a putz. The French think he's rude. The Germans want him to stop spending. The Indians want him to get his nose out of their environmental business. The North Koreans think he's a joke. The Iranians won't acknowledge his calls. And the British can't even come up with a comprehensive opinion of him. As for the Chinese, he's too frightened to even glance their way. (After all, China now owns a large portion of the United States.) > > Maybe if America's first emperor would stay home more, travel less, and work a little bit instead of being on television just about everyday (or forget about his Wednesday date nights with his amazon wife) or stop running to "papered" Town Hall Meetings, perhaps he would have a little bit of time to do the work of the nation. > > In all fairness, it wasn't hard to be right in my prediction concerning Obama's presidency, even in its first six months, so I'm going to make yet another prediction: OBAMA WILL PROBABLY NOT FINISH HIS 4-YEAR TERM , at least not in a conventional way. > > He is such a political horror show, and so detrimental to the USA and his own Democratic Party, the Democrats themselves will either force him to resign or figure out a way to have him thrown out. Who knows, maybe he really isn't a born US Citizen and that's a way the Democrats will be able to get rid of him. > > I don't believe the Democrats have nearly as much love for their country as they do for their own political fortunes. And with Obama, their fortunes are rapidly becoming toast. > > The Democrats can keep on blaming Bush for everything, but that game's already begun to wear real thin.Their mantra was "WE DON'T WANT 4 MORE YEARS," which the STUPID people bought. The new mantra will soon become: "WE DON'T WANT 6 MORE MONTHS." > > > > Please tell me, how is it the majority of the Canadian population understands what's going on in the United States however, the majority of the American public and the socialistic idiots in Washington DC have no idea of what's happening to their country, or they're too stupid to care.
"Let me be clear: I am not going to walk away from health reform," Obama said, bringing the audience in the hotel ballroom to their feet.
"We can't return to the dereliction of duty," Obama said. "America can't afford to wait, and we can't look backward."
His party, for certain, would prefer not to revisit its ordeals of 2009, which produced some victories but hardly the narrative that would deliver them victories this year.
"I know we've gone through a tough year. But we've gone through tougher," Obama said.
DNC chairman Tim Kaine, the former Democratic governor of Virginia who saw a Republican follow him into office, said they should not be downtrodden.
"The ghost of Harry Truman would kill us if he heard us complaining about having only 59 Democratic senators," Kaine said.
"We've had our ups and downs since the inauguration," Kaine conceded.
He warned, though, that Republicans were unlikely to support Obama's health care agenda.
"We might get one or two," he said.
I guess they will just keep ignoring the people until their terms are up or they get voted out of office. I would rather wait many years, until they get it righ,t than to have them make that pork ladden special interest health bill a law.

Not everyone, who works hard makes it anywhere. Popularity and azz kissing gets you far, contacts your family has, social stature. Alot of times it depends where you start in life, what God has blessed you with inter personal skill wise, Charisma for example gets on much further than hard work, look at fearless leader in the white house. I am not saying that socialism is a good thing, or I want to see hand outs, but to think one has while another doesn't because one has worked harder, is more intelligent, etc is probably 50% the case. If God has smiled on you, don't take it that it was all done with your own hands, if you don't believe in God, then luck has some to do with it also. There are people with masters degrees working for far less money than they should be, working far harder than most of us, because of fate.
There is no solution to this, life isn't fair, you don't always get what you put in, and no I am not asking for handouts, just people to think before they speak out about why they have and others don't.

Scary, her tongue slipped. So, looking at this globally, what major oil producing countries do not have their petroleum industries nationalized? I'm not saying nationalization is a good thing. I'm just saying that maybe the private sector hasn't always looked out for what's best for the country. OK...maybe the government shouldn't be the ones to run it either? But, the question here appears to be about private companies profiting from drilling on lands that belong to the people. Didn't (doesn't?) a great deal of Alaskan oil end up in Japan? I think that's what the issue might be here? In that case, I'm thankful that Socialist Liberal appears to be looking out for our national interest. Fire away, I'm not sure what the context of her retort was-I'm just reading between the lines here.
Legendary entertainer and left-wing political activist Harry Belafonte sparked controversy when he called President George W. Bush a “terrorist” and “the greatest tyrant in the world.”
Now Belafonte has directed some incendiary comments at a figure on the other side of the political aisle — President Barack Obama.
Appearing on Tavis Smiley’s PBS talk show on Jan. 18, Belafonte — who was a close confidante of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. — was asked by Smiley if Obama’s election is “the fulfillment of Dr. King’s dream.”
Belafonte, the first black performer to win an Emmy, responded: “I think that Barack Obama having become president of the United States of America is but a small test as to the fact that this nation is in a rather incremental way moving forward.
“I think that it is much to America’s credit that it could go to that place. However, in the aftermath I think there are millions who have come to the table to tell you they would wish he was dead rather than alive, doing some of the things that he is doing . . .
“Barack Obama is first and foremost a man. He is flawed. He has his contradictions. He’s revealed those contradictions. There’s a question that we have — do we get behind him and push him to become what we know he should be, or do we lay back, watch him drift, watch him capitulate to the enemy, and then say, ‘Ah-ha, we knew it all along’?”
Belafonte continued his criticism of the president, citing his decision to send more troops to Afghanistan.
“I think that we have a task while we see these things going adrift, while we see reversal of promises back in Afghanistan — we’re now going to be pretty soon in Yemen — all of these things are beginning to fray at the edges,” he said.
“It is up to the people of America to take a strong stand and let its voice be heard, and not have a small few in the special interest override the greater human interest for the world.”
Smiley also voiced criticism of the administration and its response to pressure from the left: “I get the sense, and many others do, that this White House oftentimes takes being pushed as being told what to do. They take being pushed as you’re being disloyal.”

Liberal Icon Attacks Obama Over Israel
Marty Peretz, editor-in-chief and former owner of the liberal magazine The New Republic and a staunch supporter of Barak Obama in 2008, has written a column sharply critical of the president over Israeli aid to Haiti.
On Jan. 15, Obama commented that in addition to U.S. aid to Haiti, assistance had come from “Brazil, Mexico, Canada, France, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic, among others.”
He declined to mention Israel.
In a column headlined “Maybe I’m Getting Paranoid . . . About Obama,” Peretz wrote: “The fact is that, next to our country, Israel sent the largest contingent of trained rescue workers, doctors, and other medical personnel.
“The Israeli field hospital was the only one on the ground that could perform real surgery, which it did literally hundreds of times . . .
“So didn’t Obama notice? For God’s sake, everybody noticed the deep Israeli involvement. I understand that Obama doesn’t like Middle East narratives that do not contain ‘one side and the other side’ equal valance. But he couldn’t have that here. The Arabs don’t care a fig.”
Peretz concluded: “Yes, I think that the labors of the Israelis were edited out of Obama’s speech, either by his speechwriters (who have made dissing Israel their forte) or by his own oh-so-delicate but dishonest censoring mechanism.”
This is not the first time the liberal editor has criticized Obama over Israel. In his column of July 14, 2009, Peretz wrote: “Frankly, I am sick and tired of President Obama's eldering — more accurately, hectoring — Israel's leaders. It is, after all, they whose country is the target of an armed and ideological cyclone that Obama has done precious little to ease.”
