This summer(Late June-July) I will be taking out my working 3800NA(L36) and putting an L37 in my 87 Fiero GT with a 5-speed transmission. I also will be doing some coil-overs in the back, and a brake upgrade.

I was wondering, is there anyone who would want to purchase this as a complete unit for an easy swap? If you have a healthy cradle+5-speed, we could just swap the back end and save you a bunch of time(since I need to get so much new stuff anyway).

I am losing the L36 due to power concerns and a roasted clutch. I drove the car for about 2-3,000 miles in Michigan, drove it 1,300 out to Colorado, and then put another 2,000 or so on it before the clutch started to slip. In terms of parts:

All of the following parts were replaced before the ~8,000 miles of driving, and would come with the cradle. In terms of parts, I don't know exact names(I can give you them upon request), but think higher-range RockAuto stock replacements:
- Struts/springs
- Ball joints
- Calipers/Pads/Discs
- CV Joints/Axles
- Wheel Bearings
- Tie Rode Ends
- Parking brake cable

In terms of the engine:
- 1996 3800 Series II that had about 140k on it before the swap.
- Redid all seals, did not tear engine apart though
- Relocated Oil Filter
- Lower mount alternator with appropriate belt
- Rear dog bone mount

Tranny:
- Stock 5-speed, 50k miles on it(at least that is what it said when I bought it)
- Flywheel machined down and balenced
- Needs clutch(I bought a stock one and took it to the strip once..)
- Replaced fluid/axle seals

Electronics:
- 3800 computer reprogrammed by sinister performance
- Complete wiring harness rewire for the computer to be located where the battery used to be. No extra wires, pretty well done.
- Wired for air conditioning(you wouldn't get the fluid lines/working compressor, just a dying compressor)

Misc:
- Cradle just got a recent POR-15(12?) job last time it was out
- You could even test drive it before you decided to trade

Things you would not get:
- Exhaust(sorry it sounds too fantastic)
- A/C compressor/lines
- Fuel lines
- I think that is it

What you need to swap to me:

- Working 5 speed from an 87(or late model 86) and cradle(you can keep the engine if you want) + whatever we determine is reasonable in $$
- I'd prefer to drive it before

This would happen in ABQ, NM if you're interested. Transport would be on you. Let me know if you're interested!
