If it's ceramic coating, not much of anything. It may lose a bit of its gloss, but that's about it. The coating won't be harmed.
As for the properties...?
I had my headers plated with "almost chrome". It's designed to hold the heat inside the header, and reduce underhood temps.
After being heated (overheated, really) it lost some of its luster, but still retained the "almost chrome" look.
The black coating may or may not work that way. Some coatings are designed to wick heat away. (Think motorcycle cylinders, etc.)
