I will be building my swap axles sometime this coming winter. Putting a 2003 MN7 4t65eHD into our 88, already have both 88 auto axles, and both axles from the GTP. Need the specific pieces to combine these together. If you know what is required and have the items, we can do a deal. If more detail is needed, post here with questions and I will reply with more specifics. Thanks!

Sounds like you just need a manual Fiero axle outer. I probably have one or can cut one down to save on shipping.

It all depends on where you mount the engine, but this has worked for me

Assuming that you are doing the 4T65E-HD transmission:
Drivers Side:
Auto Fiero Drivers Side Axle

Passengers Side:
GTP Passenger inner CV tripot and the tripod with bearings
GTP Drivers side Axle
Manual Fiero Outer

On my 3800n/a swap with 4T65E transmission:
Drivers Side:
Auto Fiero Drivers Side Axle

Passengers Side:
GTP Passenger inner CV tripot and the tripod with bearings
Manual Fiero Drivers side axle

Exactly. At your convenience, please look through your parts, and PM me if you find one suitable. No rush, this is all pre-planning for winter/spring assembly. Thank you!

So, this did not work out. Been over 6 months since I sent my address, and he has apparently decided to break communication...mmm, whatever. I think I have been sufficiently patient. My swap continues, and I still need parts from a manual transmission Fiero axle. Anyone willing to sell me these parts?

I copied this post from Central Florida Fiero's thread:

quote
Pappy: The Passenger Side Axle

After many Beers, injured fingers, swearing and of course all that forgin GREASE We have AXLES!

Back story: I haven't been able to locate this Mythical Male Tripot that fits BOTH the 4T65E-HD and the Manual Fiero axle. I have searched 4 Pick and Pulls - From Melbourne up to Daytona and from Cocoa across to O'town(Orlando) - Through blazing sun, scorching heat, monsoon down pours and electro-magnetic high energy plasma storms. I have dragged my body parched and dehydrated over fields of toxic rubble, broken glass and sharp bits of metal. I've been bitten, sprayed and stung by the worst tempered creatures mother nature could muster to thwart my quest. I've climbed to the peaks of Razor Edged - Jagged Metal - Mountains in search of this illusive GTP Tulip to no avail - I was beaten. So today, broken I sat on the hot garage floor in the sweltering heat, surrounded by a plethora of GM Axles spanning 25 years and 5 different body styles. I found myself weeping like a little girl, the frail remnants of my once Fierce Herculean Physique and Drive all but forgotten...

After doing a little searching, I was unable to get what I needed as well. It was then that I bit the bullet and just let Stephen Poe (AKA MustangsBware) build the axle for me. It was WELL worth it!

(Here is his sale thread and info)

Thank you both, that's my new plan. At least I will get to keep my herculean physique intact.

"It all depends on how you mount the powertrain" is a very valid statement. I tried using the GTP driver side axle on the passenger side and it was about 1" too long. I ended up using a 13" GM axle bar driver and 14" L GM axle bar on the passenger side. IIRC correctly the application was from a mid 80's Beretta/Cavalier/Sunbird with the 5 speed.
