I previously purchased, from a member, a 1987 fuel tank, straps & sender assembly. The tank was good, the straps were apparently from a pre-1987 and therefore did not fit and the fuel sender level does not register on the gas gauge. So ....... I get to take it all apart and buy more stuff.

What I am looking for is the fuel sender with pump assembly and 1987/88 fuel tank straps. Please, I do not need to explain to the spouse why the stuff I bought is apparently crap for a car she does not like in the first place. If you have these parts, please advise how much shipped to Ohio 44833. Thank you in advance.

Hi, did you ever get the straps and fuel sender? I had problems with my fuel sending unit registering on the gas gauge of my son's Ninja motorcycle. I was prepared to buy a new fuel sending unit but decided to clean the old one up because something looked wrong on it. It turned out all I needed to do was clean off the variable resister section where the float arm moves up and down. I also bent the small needle that rubs up against the gang of copper windings inside of that area. Put it back together and worked like a charm. May be a similar issue.

However, if you are still looking I have the parts you require. I'm dropping the fuel tank from my 87 GT which was a running car and the fuel gauge worked fine.

Please send me a PM.

Thank you,
