Decided to go with a 85 v6 swap for my 84 auto.found a wonderful indepth how to guide on here and i really appreciate the responses on the quad 4 swap just a little too much right now but a 2.8 swap is more realistic.if anyone is near chambersburg mcconnellsburg surrounding areas and wouldn't mind lending a hand I will compensate for time and travel..
Dont mean to be a pita!!😕

A V6 into an 84 Fiero is not plug and play, even with the Fiero V6 wiring harness and ECM. The wiring on the 1984 is very different than on the 85-up cars. The job is certainly doable but its a good deal of work. The other question is: do you want to put a used 32 yr+ old engine in? You might want to look in the mall to see what swap engines are available.

At least with a 2.8 dont have to rip half the damn harness out.from my take you use the stock tranny run your v6 cooling pipes the driver side remove the front shock drop the front trunk pan.

With the work that it would take to do a 2.8L swap you could have a 3800SC. While the 3800 would bolt to your auto the best reliability would be to use the 4T65eHD trans that goes with the 3800.
Both swaps would require new mounts, new wiring, and the running of new gas, water and trans lines. With the 2.8L the harness would not fit the 84. With the 3800 Timm Bacher, James Brown or Joe Welsh could make a new swap harness for you. Engine and trans mounts can be purchased from West Coast Fiero or Fierorog. I've never heard of removing the shock to change a radiator hose. If your front hoses are in good shape they stay put with a swap. The stock radiator may work but just ask around if anyone has experience with this. If you are looking for some real excitement the 3800SC is one engine that will provide it. The 4.9L is also a nice swap and easier to do.
